Fantasy Football Week 6 DST Streamers

This week was extremely top-heavy, with a lot of great defensive performances falling apart at the last minute. Just look at the end of the Titans-Cardinals game to see a massive, improbable swing in points. Despite that, only one team truly let us down. Let’s build on a strong performance with the best DST streamers for fantasy football in Week 6. Plus, a few defenses to stash.

Week 6 DST Streamers

Pittsburgh Steelers (vs Cleveland Browns)

Fantrax Rostership: 77% (Other Platforms: 65% – 74%)

Coming off a bye, the Steelers may have been dropped in your league. You’re most likely reading this after the big waiver run processes, so it’s possible that rostership has changed a lot. On the off chance that Pittsburgh is still available, grab them. The Steelers host the Browns after some rest, and then head to Cincinnati to take on a struggling Bengals offense that just traded for Joe Flacco.

The Cleveland Browns are likely to start Dillon Gabriel again this week. The rookie threw for 190 yards and 2 TDs without turning the ball over once against the Vikings. While he was sacked twice, the Browns offense was fairly competent. They still only scored 17 points, and Gabriel may have his hands full with a strong Steelers pass rush. Joey Porter Jr. will also be returning for the team. Pittsburgh ranks 12th in defensive DVOA and has sacked opposing QBs 14 times in 4 games.

Green Bay Packers (vs Cincinnati Bengals)

Fantrax Rostership: 75% (Other Platforms: 45% – 49%)

Like the Steelers, the Packers are coming off a bye and may have been dropped in your league. Green Bay will be rolling out one of the toughest defenses in the league, ranking 3rd in DVOA and limiting their opponents to just 4.5 yards per play (2nd lowest in the league). With a struggling opponent up next, the Packers DST is a top fantasy streamer in Week 6.

The Bengals just traded for Joe Flacco, and while he will get an upgrade in weapons, his offensive line is much worse. Flacco has been pressured on 26.3% of his dropbacks, 4th highest in the league per Pro Football Focus. The former Super Bowl champion has only been sacked 9 times in 4 games, but he has thrown only 2 TDs to 6 INTs. Jake Browning was sacked 9 times and threw 8 picks in just 3 starts. Flacco may have the experience to keep the offense rolling a bit more, but the Packers are still an excellent start.

Los Angeles Rams (at Baltimore Ravens)

Fantrax Rostership: 66% (Other Platforms: 48% – 53%)

To call last week a disappointment would be an understatement. I’m not surprised that Kyle Shanahan got a lot out of his team, but the Rams barely put up a fight. Despite the loss, this is a good defense. The Rams have sacked opposing QBs 15 times, tied for 3rd in the league. Baltimore’s offensive line was struggling against the Texans last week and could suffer a similar fate in Week 6.

Cooper Rush won’t save the Ravens. Rush threw for 179 and, while he was only sacked once, was picked off 3 times. Lamar Jackson could miss multiple weeks but he still has a chance to play as of writing this. Even if Lamar plays through an injury, this play is solely reliant on his missing the game. Tackle Ronnie Stanley may also be healthy enough to play. Temper expectations as the Ravens get a bit healthier on offense, but stream the Rams if Lamar is out.

Indianapolis Colts (vs Arizona Cardinals)

Fantrax Rostership: 59% (Other Platforms: 48% – 63%)

It’s about time we just admit the Colts are legit. Maybe they’re not amongst the league’s elite yet, but Indy can excel on both sides of the ball. Importantly, they wipe the floor with vastly inferior opponents. They have scored 19, 17, and 18 fantasy points against the Dolphins, Titans, and Raiders. In Week 6, they get the Cardinals.

Arizona should have beaten the Titans by two or three scores last week, but they lost after some insane plays kept Tennessee in the game. Against every other opponent, though, they have struggled. Arizona has only surpassed 21 points once this season, and they visit a Colts team that has only allowed the Rams and Broncos to eclipse 20 points.

The Colts have 8 takeaways so far, tied for 5th most in the league, and they have 14 sacks. Kyler Murray is having a solid season, not turning the ball over too much, but he has been sacked 16 times this year. Arizona’s offense is good enough to have a solid, uneventful day, but it’s unlikely the Colts sink your fantasy week.

Cleveland Browns (at Pittsburgh Steelers)

Fantrax Rostership: 57% (Other Platforms: 44% – 67%)

Like last week, I believe two teams in the same game have streamer potential. Unlike the Steelers, the Browns should be more widely available. Cleveland is allowing a league-low 4.4 yards per play while sacking opposing QBs 14 times. The Browns defense has been much better at home than away, but the quality of opposing offense matters. The Steelers are coming off a bye and look fine, but they are not the Lions or Ravens (when healthy).

Pittsburgh has only scored more than 24 points in a game once so far, back in Week 1 against the Jets. Aaron Rodgers has mostly taken care of the ball, but he got massacred against the Seahawks, one of the best defenses in the league.

Seattle picked Rodgers off twice and sacked him 3 times. The Steelers offensive line is solid, but Rodgers does not have the mobility to evade pressure for long. Myles Garrett is as good as ever, and veteran Maliek Collins has been elite on the defensive line, too. A fresh Steelers team at home may give Cleveland trouble, but the Browns are still a good DST to stream in Week 6.

Las Vegas Raiders (vs Tennessee Titans)

Fantrax Rostership: 16% (Other Platforms: 1% – 5%)

There aren’t many low-rostered plays this week, but the Raiders look like they have the best chance. While the Titans got their first win of the season this week, they are still not good on offense. Cam Ward threw for nearly 300 yards but got sacked twice and threw a pick. Tennessee scored a season-high 22 points, but 7 came from a TD and an extra point on an insane interception that was then fumbled into the end zone.

Las Vegas isn’t exactly great on defense, ranking 21st in DVOA, but they can still offer fantasy value. The Titans are the second-best matchup for DSTs. Cam Ward has been sacked a league-high 19 times and has only thrown 2 TDs to 3 INTs. Vegas ranks below-average in pressure rate and sacks, but they have faced some great offensive lines. There’s risk in the Raiders, but their matchup is undeniably great.

DSTs to Stash

Chicago Bears

The Bears defense has not lived up to expectations, but they can excel in the right matchup. Chicago has some juicy matchups coming up, and may be worth a stash on your bench. After a tough game against the Commanders this week, they get the Saints, Ravens, Bengals, Giants, Vikings, and Steelers. Not all of those matchups are elite, and Lamar Jackson is expected to return by the time the Bears play them. Still, you can stash them on a deeper bench and worry just a little bit less about your lineup.

Kansas City Chiefs

Facing the Lions in Week 6, it’s unlikely many managers will be willing to hold onto KC. The Chiefs’ DST has been good to start the season, scoring at least 7 fantasy points since only putting up 3 in Week 1. They also have some boom weeks against lesser opponents. The Chiefs get a juicy matchup next week when they take on the Las Vegas Raiders.

While the Raiders are a divisional opponent who historically give the Chiefs trouble, I would rather trust the great defense. Geno Smith has now thrown 9 interceptions, and he has been sacked 16 times. The Raiders offense has playmakers but they are not as deep or creative as they need to be. With a shaky offensive line, a booming Chiefs defense should produce results next week.

New England Patriots

The Patriots could be worth starting this week against the Saints, too, but they are a great stash too. New England will get the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, and then the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. You might also be able to use them against the Falcons in Week 9.

Although the Titans picked up their first win of the season last week, it came under incredibly unlucky (and somewhat self-inflicted) circumstances for Arizona. Emari Demercado dropped what would have been a 75 yard rushing TD at the goalline. Later, the Cardinals intercepted Cam Ward but then fumbled on that same play, managed to knock the ball into the endzone, and a Titan jumped on it for a TD. As mentioned with the Raiders suggestion, Cam Ward is getting knocked down nearly every play. Until things drastically change, you can always start a DST against them.
