As we move into Week 8 of the football season, we also move into another week of my starts and sits for quarterbacks and RBs. Week 8 also means no Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy or Woody Marks. But lucky for you, I’m here to tell you who you should be starting in your lineup and who you should be sitting.

Week 8 Starts and Sits
Quarterback Starts
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (vs. Arizona Cardinals)
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are starting to get back in their groove, and he has a great matchup this week. The Cardinals are giving up the third-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks at 22.7. Prescott, on the other hand, had three touchdowns last week. He is a must-start this week.
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (vs. Carolina Panthers)
Jordan Love is becoming a must-start every week. This offense is fun and electric, with Christian Watson and Matthew Golden doing work. Love has 13 touchdowns to five interceptions on the season. He has also thrown two or more touchdowns in every game this season except one.
Quarterback Sits
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (vs. Minnesota Vikings)
This is a hard one to bench, but the Minnesota Vikings are just that good. They are giving up only 8.8 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, the lowest mark in the league. Goff, on the other hand, has been solid this season but has yet to face a top-tier defense.
Bo Nix, Denver Broncos (vs. Kansas City Chiefs)
I know Bo Nix had a game last week, but this week is a different story. The Chiefs are giving up the third-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks at 13 per game. Nix, on the other hand, has been extremely inconsistent this season. He has three games in which he failed to score double-digit fantasy points. This is going to be one of those weeks.
RB Starts
Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers (vs. Carolina Panthers)
Congrats if you took the risk of drafting Josh Jacobs. He was active all game in the run game and through the air. He had five receptions for 55 yards and one touchdown. Jacobs is the clear RB1 on this team, and it didn’t take him long to claim his spot. Also, his opponent, the Carolina Panthers, are giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to RBs at 26.7.
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers (at Green Bay Packers)
On the other side of the ball, I would make sure to start Chuba Hubbard as well. Hubbard had a bad game last week, but that was because the Panthers were down so badly that they had to resort to throwing the ball all game. This week will be different, as the Packers are giving up 23.3 fantasy points per game to RBs.
Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. Atlanta Falcons)
This one is a sneaky start, but it’s looking like Bucky Irving is back to his elite self. Since Week 2, he has not had fewer than 15 rushing attempts. He is getting the volume and producing at the same time. Last week, he had two rushing touchdowns, 106 yards and 24 rushing attempts. The Falcons are also giving up 22.8 fantasy points per game to RBs.

RB Sits
Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers (at Los Angeles Rams)
Omarion Hampton is droppable at this point. I would not start him against the Rams, as they are giving up 17.7 fantasy points per game to RBs. Hampton has yet to score more than 17 fantasy points in a game this season, so all signs are pointing to benching him. In his last three games, his rushing attempts have been nine, 14 and seven. The inconsistency in his workload is concerning.
Rico Dowdle, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. Cleveland Browns)
I think this is Jaylen Warren’s backfield now. Though Rico Dowdle was efficient while on the field, I don’t trust him in the long term. Warren had 18 attempts to Dowdle’s nine. The Steelers also have the Browns this week, who are giving up 17.5 fantasy points per game to RBs. That is very little to go around between two RBs, and if one is going to go off, it’s going to be Warren.
