Fantasy Hockey Buy Low/Sell High – Week 14

After 14 weeks of NHL action, some of hockey’s biggest names have entered a cold streak, while others are heating up with the 2026 Olympics on the horizon. Listed below are the next batch of buy-low/sell-high recommendations that fantasy hockey managers should take advantage of as the playoffs approach.

Fantasy Hockey Buy Lows

Filip Forsberg – Nashville Predators

Although the Nashville Predators have started to play better over the past month, Filip Forsberg’s production has oddly declined. Since December 17th, the Swedish winger has only tallied 2 goals and has yet to record a point in the new year. Additionally, his shot volume has significantly decreased, and he’s been finding himself on the wrong side of plus/minus as of late. That said, Forsberg is still one of the most gifted scorers in the NHL today and has always found a way to eventually produce during his longest slumps. For managers who sense the frustration of those who own Forsberg, now would be the best time to trade for him before he returns to form.

Cutter Gauthier – Anaheim Ducks

Cutter Gauthier was red hot throughout the first two months of the season, having scored 30 points through 25 games. However, he struggled to find himself on the scoresheet throughout December, mostly due to the Anaheim Ducks playing their worst hockey of the season as of late. Therefore, now is the perfect time to inquire about the elite goalscorer, as he still plays in Anaheim’s top six and averages over 15 minutes of ice time a night. Although the Ducks could continue to struggle, a player as talented as Gauthier should be able to bounce back in the near future.

Fantasy Hockey Sell Highs

Darren Raddysh – Tampa Bay Lightning

Darren Raddysh has been arguably the best offensive defenseman in fantasy hockey over the past two months, having collected 33 points in his last 25 games. Raddysh’s unbelievable production is largely due to the absence of future Hall of Fame defensemen Victor Hedman, who has missed games due to multiple injuries. However, with Hedman expected to return in February, it would be ideal to offload Raddysh for a high price before he’s no longer the number one defenseman on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Although it can be daunting to part ways with Raddysh due to his recent success, trading him could generate a return that features some of the most consistent players in fantasy hockey.

Steven Stamkos – Nashville Predators

Circling back to Nashville, Stamkos had one of the most disappointing starts to his career to kick off the 2025-26 season, logging just 9 points during October and November. That said, the holidays seemed to inspire the former captain of the Lightning, as he scored 12 goals through December to mark a comeback that nobody saw coming. Although it’s been nice to see Stamkos turn back the clock, it’s unlikely that he’ll maintain this pace throughout the remainder of the year, especially on an unpredictable Predators team. Therefore, those who roster Stamkos should consider trading him for a more consistent offensive piece before he starts to cool off.

As the trade deadline starts to inch closer in many fantasy hockey leagues, it’s crucial for managers to take chances on underperformers and trade away overachievers. Make sure to return next week for another round of buy low/sell high recommendations.
