Halfway through the fantasy hockey campaign, some players have yet to match their overall projections from the beginning of the season, leading managers to lose out on points from week-to-week. With every matchup becoming more important, listed below are three players we believe fantasy hockey owners should part ways with ahead of the Christmas break.

Week 10 Fantasy Hockey Cold List
Quinton Byfield – Los Angeles Kings
Quinton Byfield got off to a hot start this season, but his production on Los Angeles’ second line has declined over the past month. In his last 10 games, Byfield has only scored 2 points and has failed to contribute on the power-play all season. Outside of face-offs, the 23-year-old has not been able to add anything of value to many fantasy hockey teams and should be dropped on waivers for a much more consistent centerman.
Joey Daccord – Seattle Kraken
The Kraken have been struggling as of late, and Joey Daccord has unfortunately suffered due to their poor efforts on the ice. Throughout his last 8 starts, Daccord has only tallied 1 win and has allowed 26 goals against, while posting a save percentage of o.841. Daccord has been unable to secure victories largely due to the Kraken having the worst goals for in the league, but he’s also failed to be relied upon when the offense isn’t producing. Seattle isn’t showing signs of turning their luck around anytime soon, and we advise managers to offload Daccord for a goaltender on a better team.
Dougie Hamilton – New Jersey Devils
Before suffering a lower-body injury in early November, Dougie Hamilton was finally starting to collect points on the New Jersey blue line, but he’s only hurt fantasy hockey owners since returning. Hamilton has only recorded 1 point since he was cleared, despite playing over 20 minutes a night. To make matters worse, he’s been taken off the Devils’ power-play and doesn’t contribute much in the way of hits or blocks. Therefore, it’s unwise for managers to be patient with the 32-year-old, especially with his health always being a concern.
At this point in the fantasy hockey season, managers often can’t afford to wait for certain stars to play better, as losing weeks now could cost them a playoff spot. Make sure to return next week for another round of The Cold List.
