At this point of the year, many fantasy hockey managers have entered the most important weeks of the season, and nobody can afford to hold onto players who have underperformed since the Olympic break. Listed below are players who fantasy owners should part ways with before they cause them to miss out on winning a championship this year.

Week 20 Fantasy Hockey Cold List
JJ Peterka – Utah Mammoth
JJ Peterka has endured both hot and cold streaks throughout this season, and though he was starting to produce heading into the Olympic break, he’s significantly cooled off over the past two weeks. Outside of scoring, Peterka doesn’t add much fantasy value, and when he’s not producing on a consistent basis, he quickly becomes an insignificant roster spot. With just 1 point in his last 6 games, managers are better off dropping Peterka for a more reliable winger.
Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz – Toronto Maple Leafs
In fantasy hockey playoffs, there is little to no room for a poor goalie start, and with the Maple Leafs being one of the worst teams in the NHL right now, gambling on Joseph Woll or Anthony Stolarz is a risk this late into the season. In addition to not picking up wins, both goaltenders are allowing three or more goals a game, and on any given night can post a disappointing save percentage. Although Toronto’s struggles are not necessarily Woll or Stolarz’s fault, the team’s goaltending shouldn’t be trusted in the most crucial weeks of the season.
Jordan Kyrou – St. Louis Blues
Like Peterka, Jordan Kyrou has been collecting points through the second half of January and into the Olympic break, but he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net lately. Outside of two goals, Kyrou has been unable to tally other points in his last six games. Additionally, he doesn’t provide any peripheral value in fantasy hockey, and his ice time continues to fluctuate on a night-to-night basis. Like Toronto, St. Louis has been an underwhelming team this year, and with just weeks remaining in the fantasy hockey season, Kyrou’s production comes and goes too often in order to be relied upon.
Going forward, managers need to be selective about who they choose to roster, as a lackluster addition could sink a team’s playoff chances. Make sure to return next week for the final edition of the Cold List this season.
