There are a number of very productive forwards doing well that have not been added to most fantasy hockey leagues yet. This is your chance to jump on some of the best available free-agent forwards and stream them this week, or for longer. Here are the three best options chosen this week based on recent play, schedule, and opponents.
Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 14
Dylan Holloway, St. Louis Blues
Dylan Holloway has without a doubt broken out now that he has a better opportunity to shine in St. Louis. He is up to 14 goals and 29 points in 41 games this season but has again been very hot with four goals and 10 points in his last six games. Not only is Holloway producing, but he has done so on the power play two times in the last three games and so much more.
The young forward is taking at least three shots and delivering at least three hits per game, so he is giving a well-rounded effort every game. The Blues have three games on the easier side with matchups against the Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, and Columbus Blue Jackets. When he has been hot this season, he has been really hot. With the Blues having a new-ish coach and playing better, Holloway is a streamer that could turn into a lot more.
Sean Monahan, Columbus Blue Jackets
Sean Monahan has been excellent and unexpected this season for the Blue Jackets. As the top-line center, he is playing with young superstar Kirill Marchenko and Dmitri Voronkov at both 5-on-5 and the power play where the veteran is also alongside likely Norris candidate Zach Werenski as well. Monahan has 14 goals and 40 points in 40 games this season. The last time he played at this pace was at 24 years old in 2018-19 with the Calgary Flames.
Monahan has four 4-point games over his last eight games played and has five goals and 15 points over that span. He will provide shots as well as throw in some hits and blocks here and there. The big value in adding him is to provide points, and he is showing no sign of slowing down. If a point-per-game player is on the waiver wire, he’s worth the addition. The Blue Jackets play the Pittsburgh Penguins, Seattle Kraken, and Blues this week, so it’s another slate of games that aren’t too difficult.
Troy Terry, Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks may not be a big threat offensively, but Troy Terry stands alone as the biggest to any team he plays. Due to the lack of hitting, blocking shots, and the bad team he plays for, his value is lower. But that hasn’t stopped him from putting on a show over the last six games especially.
Terry has five goals and eight points over his previous six games and while he doesn’t normally block many shots or take many penalties, he has been doing both as well. He is on a loaded top line with the next two highest scorers on the team and they have been doing well leading the offense. The Ducks have a busy week as the team faces the Calgary Flames, Blues, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes.
