Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards for Week 15

Matty Beniers, Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken have been doing much better and look like they could get into the playoffs. Part of that is due to players like Matty Beniers, who has found the scoring touch he had at times last season. He is leading the top line with Jared McCann, another solid streamer for this week, and Kaapo Kakko. Beniers is also on the top power play, so there are plenty of opportunities to score.

On the season, Beniers has nine goals and 28 points in 43 games, but he has five goals and 10 points in his last 10 games. He is also riding a four-game point streak heading into action Monday, has three power-play points in his last three games, and is shooting the puck and blocking shots regularly. The Kraken still play the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, and Utah Mammoth this week.

Ryan O’Reilly, Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators have been playing much better as well and are finally over .500 on the season. Ryan O’Reilly and the top players are a big part of that. The team still isn’t scoring a ton, but when they do, the top line or top power play is usually involved. O’Reilly has two goals and four points in his last six games, but was red hot right before that with five goals and 21 points in 16 games. He’s not far off from doing that again.

O’Reilly is shooting more than normal, and he blocks shots as a strong two-way forward. The veteran has also found the penalty box a bit over the last little while. The Predators play the Edmonton Oilers, Colorado Avalanche, and Vegas Golden Knights this week.

Kasperi Kapanen, Edmonton Oilers

It’s rare, but the Oilers are the only team to play five games this week. We will miss Monday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks, but get a forward streamer from the Oilers for four more games. These will come against the Predators, New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, and St. Louis Blues, so it is a very easy week for scoring.

Kasperi Kapanen has been back for three games, inserted on the second line with Leon Draisaitl, and has a goal and four points. He’s shooting and hitting and looks good. The way he’s playing won’t see him be taken off that line in the short-term. He isn’t on the top power play, but the Oilers have been scoring at 5-on-5 anyway.

These three forward streamer options have been producing and will do more than just get points as well. Be sure to come back tomorrow for defensemen streamers.
