Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 7 Defense Streamers

The defensemen to potentially pick up this week in fantasy hockey aren’t as strong as in recent weeks, and the games aren’t too spread out for the remainder of the week. This will result in many choices playing just two more games in week 7, but there are still some better choices to stream.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Defensemen to Target for Week 7

Filip Hronek, Vancouver Canucks

Filip Hronek has been solid for the Vancouver Canucks all season and his production has been spread out nicely. There aren’t too many defensemen around the league who are playing more each game than Hronek as well, giving him ample time to produce more stats for your fantasy hockey team.

The veteran has a goal and three points in his last two games, as well as a goal and five points in his last six games. While not shooting the most, Hronek still gets power-play time and has produced there. He also hits and blocks shots a lot more than actually shooting pucks on net. The Canucks have two more games this week against the Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames.

Artyom Levshunov, Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks remain an exciting and surprising team, and Artyom Levshunov, one of the rookie defensemen, has stepped into a larger role as the season has progressed, and his numbers have shown. He wasn’t playing too much near the beginning of the season, but his most recent game saw him play over 21:30 of ice time.

Levshunov continues to pile up assists and is on Chicago’s power play, where he has recorded four points in the last five games. The rookie has five assists in his last five games and eight assists in his last nine games, while also starting to shoot, hit, and block more shots than when he wasn’t in as large a role. The Blackhawks still have three more games on tap against the Seattle Kraken, Buffalo Sabres, and Colorado Avalanche.

Justin Faulk, St. Louis Blues

Justin Faulk has been the St. Louis Blues’ most reliable defenseman all season. The team is doing poorly, but the veteran has four goals and six points, and half of his points have come on the power play, spread out throughout his 19 games this season.

Faulk has two goals and four points in his last five games. He also has three goals and six points in his last eight games, while regularly shooting, hitting, and blocking shots. The Blues will continue to chug along and face the Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders to close out their week.
