Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Week 9 Forward Streams

There are some very good and sneaky options to stream at forward this week as some players who likely weren’t even drafted in your fantasy hockey leagues are on fire and playing key minutes. As they should all be available in the majority of leagues, scoop them up to fit into your lineup this week and any of them may surprise you for the remainder of the season.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 9

Macklin Celebrini, San Jose Sharks

Macklin Celebrini is definitely living up to the first overall pick as he has been great since getting going again off of injury. He has eight goals and 14 points in 15 games on the season, but over the past six games he has logged over 23 minutes two times, scored four goals and nine points, had three multi-point games, and two power-play points, while shooting, hitting, and blocking shots.

Celebrini is quickly turning into the all-in-one fantasy option already and the Sharks play three times this week. They begin Tuesday against the Washington Capitals, then follow that up with games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers to close out the week. Celebrini is on the top line and top power play and he is working great with William Eklund and Fabian Zetterlund right now.

Dmitri Voronkov, Columbus Blue Jackets

The young pieces for the Columbus Blue Jackets are starting to come together as they are in contention for a playoff spot and getting some solid production from many players. Dmitri Voronkov may not be a household name, but he is definitely a player to take note of as he has been skating on the top line and putting up some good points.

Voronkov is playing with Sean Monahan and Kirill Marchenko and has six goals and 11 points in 14 games this season. Those numbers are skewed towards a very good recent stretch after a quiet start. Voronkov has a six-game point streak with four goals and eight points but has five goals and 10 points in the last eight games. The Blue Jackets match up against the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and Winnipeg Jets this week, so there is lots of opportunity to keep his hot streak going.

Will Cuylle, New York Rangers

Will Cuylle has been fairly consistent this season while also performing even better over the last stretch of games. He is playing on the second line of the New York Rangers, a team that should be a lot better than they are. Despite the inconsistent team play, Cuylle has made his mark and is breaking out. He has nine goals and 20 points in 23 games.

Cuylle also plays on the second power-play unit, but just recorded his first point on the man advantage this season. Don’t expect him to help in fantasy hockey in that area, but he more than makes up for it with his extremely physical play. He has points in four straight going into Monday’s matchup and has points in seven of his last eight games as well for four goals and nine points. He is a solid all-around potential addition that adds physicality in a major way. The Rangers play the Pittsburgh Penguins and Seattle Kraken following their game against the New Jersey Devils.

Scoop up any of these players as soon as you can, but if you’re also thinking longer term, Celebrini and Cuylle are better options. Voronkov has the potential to amass the most production this week due to his number of games. Make sure to check back this time next week for more forward options to stream in fantasy hockey.
