Week 10 of the NFL season features some interesting matchups. Two teams I seem to be favoring this week based on my Week 10 rankings are the Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Alex Smith has been little more than a game manager in his first season in Washington. I am very interested to see if that remains the approach against a porous Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. Because of the matchup, I believe coach Jay Gruden lets Smith loose a bit this week. All of Washington’s pass catchers receive a boost this week. Tight end Jordan Reed is a must-start for me, but I also think Vernon Davis is viable depending on your format. With wide receiver Paul Richardson out for the year and Jamison Crowder questionable at best, Josh Doctson and Week 9 standout Maurice Harris should continue to get some added run. Both are among my top-40 wideouts this week. I did drop Adrian Peterson a tad because I think the passing game will be more prominent in this matchup. Peterson is still an obvious start this week.
The Los Angeles Chargers have been flying a bit under the radar, with much of the focus on the Kansas City Chiefs and their blistering offensive start. But the Chargers are now 6-2, only losing to the Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams. Los Angeles has won five straight and that streak is highly likely to continue against the Oakland Raiders. Oakland turned Nick Mullens into a QB1 last week, so needless to say, Philip Rivers is a high-end option this week. The same can obviously be said for Melvin Gordon and Keenan Allen as well. But I also like Austin Ekeler, Tyrell Williams, and Mike Williams this week. All are Flex options at worst for me in this matchup. The Raiders are a trainwreck.
Below are the rest of my Week 10 rankings. As always, these rankings are based on information currently available. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @themick23 if you have any specific questions regarding my Week 10 rankings rankings or your own lineup decisions this week.
