NASCAR DFS: Wurth 400 @ Texas Motor Speedway

This week, NASCAR rolls into Fort Worth and Texas Motor Speedway for the Wurth 400 on Sunday. It is the 11th race of the 2026 season and the fourth race on an intermediate track. For the most part, we will use the Kansas and Las Vegas 2026 races for correlation, as they all used the 670-horsepower package while Darlington used the new 750-horsepower, low downforce package.

In this article, we will look at the track and fantasy angle then look at some drivers who are on our radar heading into practice and qualifying this weekend.

Track Preview & Fantasy Angle

Texas Motor Speedway is a 1.5-mile quad-oval intermediate track with 20 degrees of banking in turns one and two and 24 degrees of banking in turns three and four. From 2005 to 2020, Texas hosted two races per season and has been reduced to one race per season since then. in terms of track history data, we will be concentrating on the four previous race at the track since the introduction of the NextGen car.

During the NextGen era, Texas has posted the lowest correlation to starting position of all intermediate tracks and the fourth lowest among all tracks. The four winners here in the NextGen era have started 27th, 24th, 18th, and 4th and practice has not been very predictive when looking at finishing position. Practice has correlated well when looking for dominators as the lap leader in each of the four races has finished 4th or better in practice and started from the pole twice.

Top Pre Qualifying Targets for DraftKings

Tyler Reddick ($10,700)

Hard not to start with Reddick who already has five wins on the season including each of the last two races on intermediate tracks. He also has a win here at Texas back in 2022, has two Top 5’s in the four races, and is one of two drivers to average 50+ DK points per race during that stretch. Looking at the intermediate data since the start of last season, he has two wins, leads all drivers in average run, and is second in average finish. He is my top driver to watch going into the weekend.

William Byron ($9,700)

No driver has been more consistent at Texas than William Byron. He won the 2023 race here, is one of four drivers with three Top 10’s in the four NextGen era races and leads all drivers with a very impressive 6.3 average finish during that stretch. The overall form doesn’t look great as he has finished 30th or worse in two of his last three races but is one of just three drivers with Top 10’s in all three intermediate races in 2026. I love the consistency and price under $10K making him a top pre-qualifying target for me in all formats.

Chase Briscoe ($9,000)

Buescher comes in at #2 in my pre-qualifying model as he checks seemingly every box. He joins Byron, Keselowski, and Suarez as the only drivers with three Top 10’s in the four NextGen era race here at Texas and is 5th among all drivers with a 12.0 average finish during that stretch. He has been extremely consistent on intermediate tracks with a win while also leading all drivers in Top 5’s (7), Top 10’s (8), and average finish (9.6) since the start of last season. He had a disappointing 29th at Talladega but was coming off back-to-back Top 5’s at Bristol and Kansas. As of now, he is a lock for me in all formats in the $9K range.

Brad Keselowski ($8,000)

While his price is trending down after Talladega, it has reached a season-high in terms of the intermediate tracks. It makes sense as he is one of those three drivers to post a Top 10 in all three of Las Vegas, Darlington, and Kansas this season. He disappointed with a 28th place finish in 2025 but is one of four drivers with three Top 10’s at Texas in the NextGen era and Keselowski also had a streak of six straight Top 10’s from 2020 to 2024. He is one of my favourite mid-tier plays at this point of the week.

Daniel Suarez ($7,000)

There are multiple value plays that stand out here at Texas but leading the way is Daniel Suarez. He has three straight Top 10 finishes at the track and going back further, has a very impressive 12.9 average finish over the last 10 races here. Among the drivers in the value range (<$7.5K), Suarez also stands out with his form as one of just two drivers in this range to finish each of the last five races inside the Top 20 and is tied for 6th among all drivers with eight Top 20’s on the season.
