NFL DFS Late Slate Picks for Week 2

Welcome back to the NFL DFS Late Slate!

The good news for all you DFS degenerates is that if your Main Slate play didn’t work out, you can put another lineup on the Late Slate. This week we get 10 total teams available. This gives significantly more players than the Week 1 Late Slate. To top it all, the Commanders play the Cowboys in a game with the highest over/under in the Sunday afternoon games. I am actually excited about this slate of games.

Week 2 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks

Quarterbacks

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Dallas allowed Jaxson Dart to throw for three touchdowns while adding 51 yards on the ground in Week 1. In Week 2, the Commanders will play the Cowboys. That sets up well for Jayden Daniels, who opened the season with two passing touchdowns and 31 rushing yards. His dual-threat ability gives him the Konami Code: a reliable floor and week-winning upside. We should see a similar performance from Daniels in Week 2.

  • FanDuel: $7,900
  • DraftKings: $6,300

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

The Commanders gave up 3 passing touchdowns in Week 1. The Cowboys play the Commanders in Week 2. Neither team has a great defense. This looks like a nice shootout. I’m leaning toward playing Dak and stacking him with Lamb for target concentration, or Pickens for a slightly lower-cost ceiling stack.

  • FanDuel: $8,000
  • DraftKings: $6,400

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

You know who was good in Week 1. Brock Purdy was. Purdy threw for only 205 yards in Week 1 but added 3 touchdowns. The Niners are big favorites in this game. In Week the Dolphins gave up 3 passing touchdowns as well. 3 more touchdowns in Week 2 would sure be Purdy.

  • FanDuel: $8,100
  • DraftKings: $6,200

Running Backs

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

McCaffrey is the slate’s strongest overall play. San Francisco enters as a 13.5-point favorite, creating the ideal game environment for him to contribute as both a runner and receiver before becoming the centerpiece of a clock-killing attack. CMC should remain involved regardless of how the game unfolds, making this a prime spot for him to do a little bit of everything, and potentially a lot of everything.

  • FanDuel: $9,000
  • DraftKings: $8,000

Javonte Williams, Dallas Cowboys

Williams was involved everywhere in the Cowboys’ offense in Week 1. He had a combined 72 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. Washington did a good job defensively against the run in Week 1, so it may be tougher sledding for Williams this week. His involvement in the passing game gives him a safe floor. All I can say is bang, bang, we want a shootout.

  • FanDuel: $7,400
  • DraftKings: $6,400

Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders

Jeanty practiced fully despite an ankle designation and remains the Raiders’ backfield priority. In Week 1, Jeanty was involved in every aspect of the Raiders’ offense. I expect to see much of the same in Week 2. Jeanty has reached complete stud status.

  • FanDuel: $7,700
  • DraftKings: $6,800

Bhayshul Tuten, Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars will play the Broncos in Week 2, and the Broncos got run over in Week 1 by Kenneth Walker. I know Kenneth Walker and Tuten are different players. But Tuten had 1 total touch and 88 total yards in Week 1. He’ll have more opportunities in Week 2. You are darn Tuten; they will be!

  • FanDuel: $6,400
  • DraftKings: $5,600

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys

CeeDee Lamb turned five receptions into 44 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, leading Dallas in receiving despite the offense producing only 175 passing yards. He now faces a Washington defense that allowed 182 passing yards and two receiving touchdowns in its opener. If Dallas struggles again, I expect Prescott to keep feeding his best receiver, making Lamb one of the safest high-end wide receiver plays in Week 2.

  • FanDuel: $8,500
  • DraftKings: $7,300

Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers

Deebo fills up a stat sheet like no one else can. In Week 1, he saw targets and turned them into 6 receptions, 49 yards, and a touchdown. He also had 1 carry for 12 yards and had 74 yards on kickoff returns. Stack him with Purdy in tournament builds rather than as a mandatory one-off.

  • FanDuel: $6,200
  • DraftKings: $5,300

Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers

McConkey remains the Chargers’ alpha receiver, but he missed Wednesday’s practice with a rib injury. He becomes a strong play if he returns to practice and avoids a restrictive designation, as he led the team in target share with 26% of the Chargers’ passes being thrown to him in Week 1. He also led the team in receptions (5), yards (82), and scored a touchdown.

  • FanDuel: $6,400
  • DraftKings: $6,200

Stefon Diggs, Washington Commanders

In Week 1, Diggs led the Commanders in targets with 9. He finished with 4 receptions, 55 yards, and a touchdown. In what looks like a shootout of the week, Diggs is a solid play to get volume in the passing game.I would not be afraid to plug in Terry McLaurin or Antonio Williams as well.

  • FanDuel: $6,100
  • DraftKings: $5,300

Tight Ends

Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

Trey McBride remains the unquestioned focal point of Arizona’s passing attack and projects to lead TEs on the slate in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The matchup is difficult, but his elite and dependable target share matters more than a one-week defensive split. McBride is Arizona’s safest pass-catcher and the slate’s strongest bet for premium tight end volume.

  • FanDuel: $7,500
  • DraftKings: $6,900

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers

Kittle is priced below Trey McBride despite playing for the slate’s biggest favorite. The matchup and game environment put him in an excellent position to have success. His limited practice participation adds some risk. If Kittle enters the weekend without an injury designation and there is no concern about restricted snaps, he is one of the strongest tight end plays on the slate.

  • FanDuel: $5,900
  • DraftKings: $4,600

Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders

Mayer drew seven targets in Week 1, converting them into six receptions for 32 yards. The yardage was modest, but volume matters here. He now faces a Chargers defense that allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends in its opener. As long as Brock Bowers remains sidelined, Mayer should remain a reliable part of the Raiders’ passing attack. The role and matchup make him a strong Week 2 option.

  • FanDuel: $5,300
  • DraftKings: $3,600

Defense

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are the top defensive play of Week 2. Miami scored just 10 points in its opener, and now Malik Willis must take that struggling offense on the road to face San Francisco. Willis can create problems with his legs, but his tendency to extend plays also creates opportunities for sacks and turnovers. The 49ers come with a high price tag, but their pass rush, scoring-prevention upside, and favorable projected game script allow you to pay up and play them with confidence.

  • FanDuel: $5,000
  • DraftKings: $3,800
