Welcome back to the NFL DFS Late Slate!
Four games make up Sunday’s afternoon-only window. The player pool is smaller, so picking the right players will matter a lot.  The Ravens–Cowboys game has the highest over/under on the slate; don’t worry, I will mention it again and again. That game offers the clearest offensive ceiling; the Raiders’ running game and 49ers’ receivers have matchups I want to attack, too. Week 1 and 2 defensive results are an early clue, not a guarantee.

Week 3 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks
Quarterbacks
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens–Cowboys game carries a 52.5-point total, one of the highest on the slate. Dallas has allowed quarterbacks to a league-high 63 rushing yards per game, which is an inviting matchup for Lamar Jackson. Add Baltimore’s concentrated passing game, and he has a strong floor with the ceiling to win a tournament. I’m flying high with Lamar in Week 3.
- FanDuel: $8,600
- DraftKings: $7,500
Kyler Murray, Minnesota Vikings
Tampa Bay has allowed the sixth-most quarterback fantasy points, and Murray has been cleared to start after his concussion. At this salary, his mobility gives us a path to a strong return even if the passing game needs a little time to settle. The matchup is right; Murray is supposed to be healthy, so here we go. I think we should call him Mighty Mouse.
- FanDuel: $7,000
- DraftKings: $5,100
Running Backs
Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders
Jeanty is averaging 27 touches and has drawn at least six targets in each game. Only Kenneth Walker ranks ahead of him in this article for workload and priority. Now he faces a Saints defense allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs, including 118 rushing yards and 1.5 rushing touchdowns per game. The Raiders keep riding the Jeanty train, and I’m buying a ticket this week.
- FanDuel: $7,700
- DraftKings: $7,100
Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens
Dallas has given up 221 rushing yards to backs, and Baltimore has a strong scoring environment in this game. Henry is expensive, especially on FanDuel, but the matchup offers enough rushing and goal-line upside to justify the investment. You know what you are buying: carries and touchdowns.
- FanDuel: $9,000
- DraftKings: $7,700
Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings
Jones carried 23 times for 105 yards in Week 2, and Jordan Mason is on injured reserve. Tampa Bay is a middling running back matchup, so Jones makes this list on potential workload and his modest salary, not because the opponent is a pushover. He did not practice Wednesday with a knee issue. I will only play him if he is active without an expected snap restriction.
- FanDuel: $6,200
- DraftKings: $5,900
Wide Receivers
Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers
Arizona has allowed 329 receiving yards and four touchdowns to wide receivers. The Cardinals give wide receivers the fifth-most fantasy points. San Francisco also has injuries throughout its receiving room, which could keep Deebo involved. The matchup is right; Deebo will be involved. Start him in Week 3.
- FanDuel: $6,500
- DraftKings: $5,300
Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Minnesota has allowed 387 receiving yards to wide receivers in its first two games. Egbuka has a meaningful role in Tampa Bay’s offense and is priced below the top-end names. He is the Buccaneers receiver for this matchup. If the Bucs can’t get it going this week, they are dead to me.
- FanDuel: $6,000
- DraftKings: $6,200
Mike Evans, San Francisco 49ers
As stated above, Arizona is an attractive opponent for the San Francisco receivers, and Evans carries the scoring ceiling to punish it. He exited Week 2 with a hip issue and missed Wednesday’s practice, though. I will keep him in the player pool only if his final status points to a normal route load. If he is playing, I’m playing him.
- FanDuel: $7,800
- DraftKings: $6,800
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
Lamb is averaging 8.5 targets per game, and Ravens–Cowboys has the slate’s highest total at 52.5 points. If this game turns into the shootout the line suggests, Lamb should be Dallas’ first option and has a strong chance to lead the team in targets, receptions, and yards. His price is high, but the volume and scoring environment give him room to justify it.
- FanDuel: $8,600
- DraftKings: $7,800
Tight Ends
T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings
Tampa Bay has given up 15 catches, 172 yards, and two touchdowns to tight ends in just two games. The Buccaneers have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing teams’ tight ends. Hockenson gets the best positional matchup on this slate and offers welcome salary relief on DraftKings. Murray’s return changes the quarterback situation, so this is a strong value play with some early-season uncertainty.
- FanDuel: $5,100
- DraftKings: $3,200
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens
Dallas has allowed 11 tight end catches and two touchdowns. Andrews saw seven targets in Week 2, making him an appealing way to pair with Lamar Jackson. If Zay Flowers remains limited by his hamstring, Baltimore may have even more reason to keep the tight end involved. Mark my words, Andrews will produce in Week 3.
- FanDuel: $5,300
- DraftKings: $4,400
Defense
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are playing against an Arizona offense that managed only 151 total yards in Week 2. San Francisco costs more than Minnesota, but the matchup and expected game script make it a reasonable place to spend. I lean Vikings first but I am not against the Niners here.
- FanDuel: $4,900
- DraftKings: $3,600
Minnesota Vikings
Tampa Bay has struggled to score and has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Minnesota gives me a lower-cost path to sacks and turnovers, freeing up salary for the players I want elsewhere. The Vikings are my value defense this week, and I’ll have them in plenty of lineups.
- FanDuel: $4,300
- DraftKings: $3,100
Final Notes
The priority plays are Jeanty, Jackson, Deebo, and Hockenson. Recheck the final practice reports for Jones, Evans, and Flowers before the afternoon contests lock. If Jones is restricted or Evans cannot play a full complement of snaps, take them off the list. The listed prices match Week 3 salary listings; confirm the exact contest pool and prices in each afternoon-only lobby before publishing.
