NFL DFS Late Slate Picks Week 13

If you are reading this, thank you. I appreciate it. I am writing this on Thanksgiving morning. So Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, even if you’re reading this a couple of days later. Before we dive into the Late Slate, I want to take a second to appreciate what makes this game so damn fun. I am grateful for the chaotic glory of the NFL, where backup quarterbacks drop 25 points out of nowhere and veteran running backs rise from the ashes just in time to save a season. I’m thankful for the late-slate sweat, the garbage time heroics, and all the moments that remind us why we tune in every week.

Most of all, I’m thankful that we get to do this together, obsess over matchups, complain about usage, celebrate the victories, and tilt our faces off over the losses. Fantasy football is supposed to be fun, and Thanksgiving is the perfect reminder of that.

Now let’s get into the games that could win you some cash Week 13… or destroy your soul before dessert.

Week 13 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Allen let us down last week in fantasy and on the field, but Week 13 sets up as the perfect rebound spot. He draws a Steelers defense allowing 290 total yards and two touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks. If you’re looking to spend up at the position, this is the week to do it. Allen’s ceiling is firmly back in play.

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert has hit a rough patch over the past two games, but Week 13 sets up as a perfect bounce-back spot. At home against a division rival, the Raiders team that has struggled against quarterbacks, Herbert’s talent and familiarity with the matchup give him a high ceiling. Despite recent struggles, I like his chances at home against the pathetic Raiders team in Week 13.

Running Backs

Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia Eagles

Gainwell’s role in the Steelers’ offense is no longer a fluke; it’s a trend. He has led the backfield in snaps for two straight weeks, stacking 16 touches, 100+ total yards, and two touchdowns in each of those games. His passing-game involvement is locked in, and he’s getting enough carries to matter. In Week 13, he draws a Bills defense that can be lit up by running backs. Expect another busy and potentially explosive performance from Gainwell.

Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers

Kimani Vidal is a solid play in Week 13 as the Chargers take on a Raiders defense that’s middle-of-the-pack against running backs but has a concerning tendency in the red zone. Las Vegas has allowed 10 different players to score at least one rushing touchdown this season, with three different backs reaching two rushing TDs. Vidal’s role in the backfield and his goal-line opportunities give him both floor and upside. He is a strong, under-the-radar cash-game option with real touchdown potential.

Ashton Jeanty, Las Vegas Raiders

Ashton Jeanty is a good play for Week 13. The Raiders face a Chargers defense that has allowed three double-digit fantasy scores to running backs over their last two games. Jeanty’s value is growing in the passing game. In Week 12, he saw eight targets, turning them into eight receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown. With his role increasing as a receiving back, Jeanty offers a safe floor and sneaky upside in PPR-heavy formats.

Wide Receivers

Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers

Ladd McConkey is in a great spot this week as the Chargers take on a Raiders defense that is super friendly to wide receivers. Las Vegas gives up the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers, allowing a weekly average of 13 receptions, 159 yards, and a touchdown to the position. I am all Charged up about McConkey.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has officially leveled up. He’s the top-scoring WR in fantasy every week, and at this point, he feels matchup-proof. Yes, the price tag is painful, but so is fading him and watching him drop 28 points when you aren’t playing him. In Week 13, he draws a Vikings defense that’s been tough against wide receivers. I do not care JSN will get you 20 fantasy points.

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

The Bills play the Steelers in Week 13. Pittsburgh is getting cooked by wideouts, allowing the second-most fantasy points to WRs, with opponents averaging 184 receiving yards and a touchdown per game from the position. Shakir’s efficiency makes him the perfect mid-range option to exploit a secondary that consistently gives up chunk plays. He brings both affordability and a real ceiling in this spot.

DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers

DK Metcalf sets up as a Week 13 DFS play against a Bills defense that’s quietly springing leaks on the perimeter. Metcalf has seen eight targets in back-to-back games, and that steady volume pairs perfectly with a matchup against a Buffalo secondary that has surrendered four touchdowns to wide receivers over the last three weeks. Metcalf carries both a safe target floor and touchdown upside this week.

Tight Ends

TJ Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings

TJ Hockenson is a strong Week 13 DFS play thanks to both the matchup and the circumstances. The Seahawks allow the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends, consistently giving up chunk plays and red-zone opportunities over the middle. With third-string QB Max Brosmer likely making his first NFL start, Hockenson becomes a potential safety valve, the quick, reliable target a young quarterback leans on when the pass rush closes in. Volume plus matchup puts Hockenson firmly in the mix as a high-floor, high-usage tight end play this week.

AJ Barner, Seattle Seahawks

AJ Barner is a strong salary-saver this week against a Vikings defense that gives up the twelfth most fantasy points to tight ends. He’s seen steady involvement, especially in good matchups. He is second on the team in targets and receptions. With the Vikings struggling to cover the middle of the field and Seattle likely controlling time of possession, Barner offers cheap volume, red-zone usage, and a safe floor with sneaky touchdown upside.

Defense

Los Angeles Chargers

The Raiders are in a free fall, now tied with the Titans for the most fantasy points allowed to opposing defenses. The Chargers get them at home in Week 13, and this matchup is loaded with upside. Las Vegas has surrendered 20 sacks over the last three games, including a brutal 10-sack meltdown vs Cleveland in Week 12. Expect constant pressure, negative plays, and turnover chances all afternoon.

Seattle Seahawks

The Vikings offense is a mess, and Week 13 could feature third-string QB Max Brosmer under center. Even if JJ McCarthy plays, he averages two interceptions per game and has struggled to put points on the board. If McCarthy is the better option for Minnesota right now, you know exactly how rough things are. Seattle’s pass rush and ball-hawking secondary make them a strong value play.
