NFL DFS Late Slate Picks Week 3

Welcome back, you crazy DFS grinders. It’s Week 3, and by now you’ve either doubled your bankroll… or you’re telling people you’re “just experimenting with lineup construction.” Either way, you’re here, which means you’re serious about finding the late-game edges that separate the casuals from the Money Makers.

This is the Late Slate where we break down the Sunday afternoon games that can swing your contests, climb you up the leaderboards, and maybe even rescue that main slate lineup you swore was a lock. By Week 3, the salaries are tighter, the chalk is obvious, the match ups make more sense, and the real edge comes from knowing which late plays can flip the slate.

So, load up that lineup builder, keep a late swap or two in your back pocket, and let’s dive into the Week 3 Late Slate. Because in DFS, it’s not just about winning it’s about the Money Makers.

NFL DFS: Week 3 Late Slate Picks

Quarterbacks

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott draws the Bears in Week 3, and the matchup looks juicy. He’s fresh off a 361-yard, 2-TD outing against the Giants, while Chicago just got lit up for 5 passing touchdowns by Jared Goff. Through two weeks, no defense has allowed more fantasy points to opposing QBs than the Bears.

Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams has opened the season with 2 passing touchdowns in each of his first two games and is now getting a Week 3 matchup with the Cowboys. With a 50.5-point over/under, this one sets up as a potential shootout. Williams is pushing the ball downfield with confidence and showing real growth in Year 2, a strong fantasy spot.

Sam Darnold

The Seahawks play the Saints in Week 3. The Saints give up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. They have given up 5 touchdowns over the first 2 games. Look for Darnold to have roughly 250 yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 3.

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara handled a massive 27 touches in Week 2; 21 carries for 99 yards plus 6 catches for 21 more. The volume is locked in heading into Week 3, and he draws a Seahawks defense that has struggled against RBs. Both Christian McCaffrey and Jaylen Warren topped 70 receiving yards against Seattle, making Kamara a strong bet to exploit them through the air.

Javonte Williams

Javonte has carried the Cowboys’ offense the past two games. He has scored 3 touchdowns over that time period and has dominated the backfield snaps at running back for the Cowboys. He also gets a super tasty match-up in the Bears this week. You see, the Bears give up the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Running backs have managed to score 3 touchdowns against the Bears this season. Javonte will be VERY popular as a DFS play this week. Javonte for Mayor of Dallas!

Kenneth Walker

The Seahawks are playing the Saints in Week 3. The Saints have given up a touchdown and a double-digit fantasy score to a running back in each of the first two games this season. Mind you, Walker only played in 35% of the offensive snaps in Week 2. So, this could be Zach Charbonnet, but I am leaning towards the more dynamic Seahawks running back.

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb

The Cowboys-Bears matchup has one of the highest Week 3 totals on the board and sets up as a shootout. CeeDee Lamb has come out hot with 24 targets, 16 catches, and 222 yards through two games — a 28% target share in this offense. The volume and yardage are locked in, and with Chicago already allowing 5 touchdowns to opposing WRs, this looks like the week Lamb finds the end zone.

Rome Odunze

Rome Odunze has been heavily involved through two weeks, earning 20 targets and turning them into 15 receptions for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns. His 29% target share shows just how much trust Caleb Williams already has in him. With the Bears facing a Cowboys defense that looked lost against the pass in Week 2, Odunze is set up for another big performance in Week 3.

Jauan Jennings

In Week 2, Jennings saw 10 targets, which he turned into 5 receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. The Niners are playing the Cardinals in Week 3. Last week, the Cardinals gave up 196 yards and 2 touchdowns to Panthers wide receivers. Jenning and Ricky Pearsall should both be in play this week against the Cardinals.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

The Seahawks have passed the ball 56 times this season. 23 of those passes have gone to JSN. That is 41% of the targets. JSN has 8 or more receptions and over 100 yards in each game this season. The Saints defend the wide receiver position pretty well, but they have allowed 1 wide receiver to score over 15 fantasy points in each game this season.

Tight Ends

Juwan Johnson

I bet you didn’t think we’d be talking about Juwan Johnson this early in the season. He owns a 25% target share in the Saints’ offense, 20 targets through two games, and has turned that into 14 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown. When Spencer Rattler feels the pressure, Johnson has been his go-to option. Even better, he gets a Seahawks defense in Week 3 that has consistently struggled to contain tight ends, often allowing them to put up wide receiver-level production.

$5,700 on FanDuel

Trey McBride

The Cardinals will play the Niners in Week 3. Last week, Juwan Johnson had 5 receptions, 49 yards, and a touchdown against this defense. McBride is the Cardinals’ leading receiver. He has 6 receptions in each of the first two games this season, and he has compiled a total of 139 yards over those two games. McBride has a massive share of the Cardinals’ targets, with just under 30% of the passes being thrown to him. McBride should easily give you double-digit fantasy points in Week 3.

DEF

Saints

The Saints give the best opportunity for you to grab 10 fantasy points in the late slate. They play the Seahawks, and the Seahawks have given up the tenth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ defenses. With an average of four sacks per game, the Saints defense should see that number this week against the Seahawks.
