NFL DraftKings Plays: Week 6

This DraftKings slate for Week 6 is quite the loaded one. However, that is before injuries and weather have put a damper on things. Two of the highest-scoring projected games entering the week are downgraded due to the weather. The Los Angeles Rams vs. the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Carolina Panthers games will both face inclement weather today. So, be careful when playing those players in your DraftKings lineups. Despite the terrible weather in some of the projected high-scoring games, there are still plenty of great plays. Below are eight players to help elevate your DraftKings lineups.

Week 6 NFL DraftKings Plays: Main Slate

Favorite Play: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (5.1K)

Lawrence had his breakout game in Liam Coen’s offense this past Monday night. In Week 5, he finished as QB5 against a great Kansas City Chiefs defense. That was mainly due to his two rushing touchdowns; the Seattle Seahawks have not allowed that kind of success this season on the ground to quarterbacks. The Seahawks, however, are giving up the 13th most fantasy points to the position. And they will be without their top three corners for their showdown against the Jaguars. Everything is set up for Lawrence to have a big game, similar to what happened to this Seattle secondary last week against the Buccaneers. Another top-five week is possibly on the horizon for Lawrence.

Contrarian play: Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints (4.7K)

You wouldn’t expect it, but Spencer Rattler is third in expected fantasy points per game. And with Christian Gonzalez questionable for today, it could be Spencer Rattler’s day. To start the year, the Saints are highly underrated from a fantasy perspective. And that stems from head coach Kellen Moore. Rattler is currently fifth in passing attempts with 35.4 per game. The New England Patriots have been middle-of-the-road, and that heavily hinges on Gonzalez. If Gonzalez does not play, Rattler might be my favorite play on this DraftKings slate.

Favorite Play: Josh Jacobs, Green Bay Packers (7.3K)

Josh Jacobs has the best matchup on the slate. The Bengals are giving up the most fantasy points to running backs this season. Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery both scored touchdowns last week. Jacobs won’t have to worry about anyone taking goal-line work from him. Jacobs played 78% and 88% of snaps in the team’s two positive game scripts. The Packers are 14.5 favorites and will likely deploy a run-heavy game plan as they take on the Bengals. Start Jacobs in your lineups with confidence as we likely see him post two touchdowns today.

Contrarian: Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals (5.6K)

On the flipside of that matchup, nobody will be flocking to roster Chase Brown on DraftKings. And with the Bengals being that big of underdogs, it makes sense. However, with the team trading for and now starting Joe Flacco, Chase Brown has the most to gain. Through the first four weeks, the Cleveland Browns had the second-most targets to the position. In that timespan, the Bengals were 24th. Brown has been one of, if not the most disappointing player to roster for fantasy this far. Making him a great contrarian play in a week where everyone is flocking to the same group of running backs.

Favorite Play: Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers (5.7K)

We’re revisiting Ladd McConkey on DraftKings. Quentin Johnston is out against the Miami Dolphins. And in a fantastic matchup against a weak Dolphins secondary, the next men up in Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen have a great opportunity. This matchup was picture-perfect for both Quentin Johnston and Omarion Hampton before their injuries. The Dolphins just gave up 206 yards on the ground to Rico Dowdle. However, Hasan Haskins and Kimani Vidal will not demand that kind of workload.

The Chargers were passing the ball more than anyone in neutral situations, and now that will likely continue without Hampton. And it will come against a defense that is giving up the third-most estimated points per drop-back. I expect both Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen to have massive days in a great matchup.

Contrarian Play: Travis Hunter, Jacksonville Jaguars (4.7K)

Many DraftKings users will flock to Brian Thomas Jr., and for good reason. He is a spectacular play on DraftKings in his own right. The receiver looked like he regained his 2024 form against the Chiefs. And now the Jaguars will be without Brenton Strange, who landed on injured reserve. Hunter’s role on offense should increase, and it comes at the right time. Seattle’s defense just gave up 31.3 fantasy points to Emeka Egbuka, who finished as WR1 on the week. Hunter’s salary on DraftKings has the risk of him not seeing much time on offense baked into it. However, with Strange’s injury, he may be thrust into a prominent role this week.

Favorite play: Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals (5.5K)

Kyler Murray is out against the Indianapolis Colts. And that may boost McBride’s and the rest of the offense’s stock for the week. Jacoby Brissett does not scramble, which is an upgrade for the pass catchers. McBride has not had a fantasy performance in the top four through five weeks. He has also had one game with double-digit targets. That should change with Brissett at the helm. Others at the position do have better matchups. However, I am confident in McBride bouncing back in a big way in what should be a high-scoring matchup for fantasy purposes.

Contrarian Play: Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3.4K)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have limited options in the passing game. Chris Godwin and Mike Evans will both miss this week with injuries. And after Emeka Egbuka, it is Sterling Shepard and Tez Johnson. That should mean substantial volume for Cade Otton. The Seahawks also give up the third-most fantasy points to the position. The cards have fallen in Otton’s favor to have a big fantasy week.

Final Thoughts

The weather is the big question heading into this slate. And that is the big thing to monitor as lineups lock. Many will be looking away from them, but a positive update could do wonders. So, keep an eye on that, as this is the first time this season that the weather has made a significant impact. I dodged the weather for the most part, but that does not mean you have to. DraftKings is all about strategy. And going against the grain could be the winning strategy in Week 6.
