After another thriller involving the Baltimore Ravens, the league hands us two middling matchups. While not nearly as exciting to the average fan, there are elite fantasy players for all four teams on Monday Night Football in Week 4. You’re not benching Garrett Wilson, but what do you do about the lesser rostered players, or the Bengals after the Burrow injury? This fantasy football preview highlights the most burning questions and a few other players to keep an eye on.

Week 4 Monday Night Football
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-2.5) O/U: 44.5
Tyreek Hill & Jaylen Waddle – WR, Miami Dolphins
New York’s pass defense was supposed to be a strength. After allowing former QB Aaron Rodgers to throw 4 TDs on them, they allowed another QB1 fantasy performance to Baker Mayfield in Week 3. Josh Allen disappointed from a fantasy perspective in Week 2, but that’s because Buffalo dominated the Jets on the ground and took a big lead early. Miami’s pass catchers aren’t guaranteed elite performances, but we should expect them to continue to perform well after their slow start.
The opportunities are incredibly condensed in this offense. The loss of Jonnu Smith was massive for Miami’s receivers, consolidating all of the targets to De’Von Achane, Tyreek Hill, and Jaylen Waddle. Malik Washington has 12 targets, but has only caught 6 of them for 34 yards. No other Dolphin has more than 6 targets or 3 receptions this year. Sauce Gardner will not get beaten often, but Brandon Stephens has already allowed 13 completions, 146 yards, and 3 TDs on 16 targets per Pro Football Reference. The QB talent drops off from Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield to Tua Tagovailoa. It’s not enough to distrust either of the Miami WRs. The Dolphins’ defense is bad, too. A shootout is entirely possible.
Ollie Gordon – RB, Miami Dolphins
De’Von Achane continues to impress. The 3rd year RB is averaging just shy of 50 rushing yards per game, and he is also averaging 6 receptions per game. Achane’s 23 targets ties Tyreek Hill for the most amongst Dolphins players this season. Where does that leave Ollie Gordon?
The rookie RB looks like he has already cemented himself as Miami’s backup. The only other Dolphins to register a rushing attempt this season are WR Malik Washington and QBs Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson. Gordon led the nation in rushing yards in 2023 at Oklahoma State. That doesn’t immediately translate to NFL success, but he has handled a fairly large workload and could step up should Achane ever miss time. Miami has deployed multiple RBs under head coach Mike McDaniel. Until we see him get substantial work, he isn’t worth starting but he should be rostered in most leagues. There isn’t another RB on the team competing for touches.
Denver Broncos (-7.5) at Cincinnati Bengals O/U: 44.5
Chase Browns – RB, Cincinnati Bengals
Talk about a series of unfortunate events. Chase Brown struggled to generate much even before the Joe Burrow injury, but things have not gotten better. The Bengals were thrown into a rough situation last week. The Minnesota Vikings have one of the league’s best pass rushes, and they generate pressure at the second-highest rate in the NFL. Part of that comes from facing just a pitiful offensive line, but their blitz rate is top-10, too. I expect the Bengals to have much better offensive performances going forward, but they will need to be very creative. Chase Brown would benefit the most in PPR leagues from getting dumpoffs, but his rushing production desperately needs to improve to give him a better floor.
The Denver Broncos are not a great get-right matchup, especially on primetime. Denver blitzes on 36% of opposing dropbacks, and they lead the league in pressure and sacks. Things will not look pretty for Cincy, but they have another week to find ways to get the ball to their playmakers. Fumbles also hurt the offense as a whole last week, ending the occasional successful drive. Unless the rest of your team is looking great heading into Monday night, there is just too much risk in trusting Brown right now. The one thing he continues to have going for him is that he dominates RB opportunities. You can count on his volume more than anything.
Troy Franklin – WR, Denver Broncos
J.K. Dobbins has been a highlight for this Broncos offense, overshadowing that there are two legit WRs in this offense. Courtland Sutton once again leads Denver’s receiving room, but sophomore WR Troy Franklin may have broken out. Last year, Franklin only caught 28 of 53 targets for 263 yards. Through 3 games in 2025, Franklin has already caught 14 balls for 141 yards. Marvin Mims or even rookie Pat Bryant may challenge for targets, but for now, it seems like the top two wideouts will continue to dominate work. Mims is 3rd on the team in targets with 10, but no other WR has more than 3. The team has more TEs and RBs getting targets than actual wide receivers.
The main concern is that Franklin’s stats are heavily lifted by a single week. Bo Nix threw 30 times in a close loss to the Colts. Franklin led all receivers in that game with 9 targets, which he turned into 89 yards and a TD. The week after, though, Bo Nix threw 25 times against the Chargers in another close loss. Franklin was only targeted 4 times, and caught 2 of them for 8 yards. To be fair, nobody outside of Sutton gained more than 14 yards for the Broncos in that game. However, you want a great WR2 to produce a lot better than that even in a tougher matchup. This week, Franklin gets a Bengals defense that has actually been tough against opposing receivers. That may also be because teams are destroying Cincinnati on the ground, taking opportunities away from pass catchers. The Bengals have also faced Carson Wentz, Joe Flacco, and Trevor Lawrence. That’s not a threatening group by any means. The Broncos are home favorites by over a TD in a matchup that dictates a run-heavy approach. There will still be targets for Franklin, but it’s hard to expect much in this situation.
