NFL Week 5 Thursday Night Football Player Props and Best Bets

Welcome back for Week 5! Hopefully, you took advantage of some of our player props that hit during last Thursday night’s games.

Now that we have a week of football behind us, we can start using data-driven statistics from the 2026 season to better understand these teams and players. That should give us an even better chance of finding player props that can hit each Thursday night.

Picks from Week 4 TNF

We went 5 of 10 on our picks in Week 4, making it our worst Thursday Night Football showing of the season so far. Deshaun Watson ended up throwing the ball five more times than I projected as the game turned into a higher-scoring matchup than expected. Jaylen Warren came close to finding the end zone a few times but couldn’t cash our touchdown prop. Jerry Jeudy stayed under his 14.5 receiving-yard line for most of the night before some late-game targets pushed him over the number. Finally, Quinshon Judkins ran the ball better than he had in previous weeks but finished with 53 rushing yards, just three yards short of cashing the over on 55.5. Denzel Boston had a great game but couldn’t find the endzone.

If you took my suggested parlay last week, you had an opportunity to cash out, but unfortunately, we ended up missing it by just one pick. It wasn’t our best week, but that’s part of betting player props. Let’s put Week 4 behind us and bounce back with a strong Week 5!

Let’s dive into our favorite player props for Week 5 of Thursday Night Football!

Rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels is getting his second career start in primetime against the Cowboys. If you don’t know Daniels, he has some serious mobility and can make plays with the ball in his hands. In Week 4, Daniels had 55 rushing yards on eight attempts. Now he faces a Cowboys defense that has allowed three of its four opposing quarterbacks to run for 50-plus yards. Tampa Bay will likely be playing from behind and need Daniels to make plays, so give me the mobile quarterback to get over 44.5 rushing yards on TNF.

The young quarterbacks are going to make mistakes, and Jalon Daniels has shown that early in his career with an interception in both games he has played. On the flip side, Dallas has yet to record an interception this season, so something has to give. The Cowboys recently added Joey Porter Jr., which should help strengthen their secondary. Daniels also has a strong arm and isn’t afraid to take shots downfield, which can create opportunities for turnovers. He had turnover issues in college as well, so in his second career start on Thursday night, give me Daniels over 0.5 interceptions.

Moving over to Bucky Irving, who has some positive and negative plays to target in Week 5. Starting with his rushing yards, TNF has been good to running backs, with seven of eight RBs getting at least 52 rushing yards. Irving has reached at least 52 rushing yards in two of his last three games. Dallas has also allowed two rushers to go over 80 yards when they received at least 15 carries. Irving has seen at least 15 attempts in three straight games, so I’m taking him to get over 51.5 rushing yards in this matchup.

While Bucky Irving may do well on the ground, there are concerns about his receiving production. Last week with Daniels, Irving saw zero targets, and we’ve seen his targets drop since Week 1. Dallas has kept opposing running backs’ passing-game opportunities to a minimum over its last two matchups. With Daniels having more rushing attempts than targets to his backfield in Week 4, I expect a similar outcome on TNF. Let’s take Irving under 2.5 receptions in Week 5.

Moving over to the Cowboys, I expect Javonte Williams to have a solid outing. While his rushing production should be decent, it’s his opportunities in the passing game that are interesting. The Buccaneers have allowed opposing backfields to record at least six receptions for 30 or more yards in every game this year. I’m taking Williams over 15.5 receiving yards and over 2.5 receptions as strong bets. Williams has cleared the reception prop in every game this year and has gone over the receiving-yard mark in three of four games. The Buccaneers rank 15th in YPRR allowed and third in TPRR allowed, so this is a defense that gives running backs opportunities and yardage through the air.

Sticking with Javonte Williams for one more prop, I like him to score an anytime touchdown. There has been at least one rushing touchdown scored in every TNF game this year. The Buccaneers haven’t allowed one since Week 1, but that could change against a stronger Cowboys offense that ranks second in scoring this season. Williams has scored a touchdown in three of four games. If Dallas gets into the red zone, Williams should have his chances, as he ranks seventh in i20% touches.

Tight end Jake Ferguson has a favorable matchup against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has allowed opposing tight ends to produce at least 40 receiving yards in three games. Ferguson has gone over this prop just once this season, but that came against another top-10 defense in receiving yards allowed to tight ends in the Commanders. The Buccaneers allow the sixth-most receiving yards to the position, so give me Ferguson over 26.5 receiving yards.

CeeDee Lamb has been on fire over his last three games, recording more than 100 receiving yards in three straight. The Buccaneers have allowed two receivers to go over 90 yards this year. Lamb also ranks third among WR1s in TPRR, and we know Tampa Bay allows the third-highest TPRR to opposing receivers. Expect Lamb to see plenty of opportunities and produce another elite outing. I’m taking Lamb over 80.5 receiving yards.

We’re also taking CeeDee Lamb to score an anytime touchdown. The Buccaneers have allowed a touchdown to a receiver in three straight games, while Lamb has been a touchdown machine with at least one score in three of his four games this season.
