NHL Injury Report
Zach Hyman, Edmonton Oilers

Missing just three games would be the good news. There are further reports that Hyman could be out for two weeks. That injury would stretch to the end of the regular season and possibly the first game of the playoffs.
Cutter Gauthier, Anaheim Ducks

When the coach reports ‘he’s moving better today,’ you have to think he’ll miss the Ducks game on Tuesday, if not the game on Thursday, as well. The good news, if we’re looking at the glass half full, there have been no reports that Gauthier could miss the rest of the regular season
Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche

Makar looks set to miss another game on Tuesday. The good news is that he should be back in your lineups to help with the final few days of the regular season. Let’s be real, though, the Avalanche are closing in on the division title and the Presidents’ Trophy. With little else to play for, they have no reason to rush Makar back or play him in every game down the stretch. Even if Makar returns this week, expect him to get less ice time or be a healthy scratch to help him rest.
Look to Sam Malinski to provide spot relief while Makar remains out. No one’s replacing Makar, but with 37 points on the season, Malinski has been a pleasant surprise.
Philipp Grubauer, Seattle Kraken

Things go from bad to worse for the struggling Kraken. Grubauer has been the better of the two underperforming goalies over the past month.
Joey Daccord should see most of the starts if Grubauer misses any length of time. I say should because the Kraken are set to miss the playoffs again. There’s no need to play Daccord ragged down the stretch. I suspect we’ll see Niklas Kokko get recalled and be given an opportunity to play over the next few games.
It’ll be a day or two before we get any real update on Grubauer.
Anthony Cirelli, Tampa Bay Lightning
#GoBolts C Anthony Cirelli will not play tonight due to injury, team announces. He is listed as day to day.
Both Scott Sabourin and Mitchell Chaffee are on the ice for pregame warmups here in Buffalo. 6 D on the ice.
— Eduardo A. Encina (@EddieInTheYard) April 6, 2026
It wouldn’t be the end of the NHL season without Cirelli being nicked up. With the Lightning in a dog fight for playoff positioning, Cirelli will play as much as he can. For him to miss last night’s game against the Buffalo Sabres, he’s definitely dealing with an injury rather than nicks and bruises.
