The Yankees were so close to winning it all in 2024 before losing to the Dodgers in the World Series. They are hoping to get a ring during Aaron Judge’s tenure and they are willing to spend for it. They lost Juan Soto from their lineup, which creates a big hole to fill. One thing is certain, however, they will do whatever it takes to get back to the World Series in 2025. They’ve already added players like Max Fried, Devin Williams, Cody Bellinger, and Paul Goldschmidt to help with that endeavor. Because they are competing, it can be hard for Yankees prospects to find a path to the majors.
There are a handful of players worth keeping an eye on for 2025, but the bulk of prospects on this list are still a few years away. It’s a pitching-heavy system at the moment, as the Yankees restocked their arms in the most recent draft. There are some loud tools on this list as well. If these players hit, the sky is the limit. Overall, it’s an interesting system that could see some breakouts during the 2025 season.
Top New York Yankees Prospects for Dynasty Leagues
1. OF Jasson Dominguez, Age: 21
The Martian signed with the Yankees in 2019 and it’s hard to remember any international prospect garnering as much hype as Jasson Dominguez upon signing. It seemed the pandemic-cleaned season in 2020 only added to the mystique. Still only 21 years old, the switch-hitting outfielder missed a chunk of time following Tommy John surgery. He returned from injury and put up a 121 wRC+ through 193 Triple-A plate appearances in 2024 before an 18-game stretch with the Yankees to close out the season.ย Between 2023 and 2024 Dominguez has totaled 87 at-bats at the Major League level while slashing .208/.310/.437 with six home runs and six stolen bases. Between what appeared to be a delayed promotion last year and now the addition of Cody Bellinger, there have been some questions about how the organization feels about Dominguez. At the end of the day, he’s shown power and speed at every level. He’s still young and waiting for a consistent chance in New York to prove he can live up to all the hype surrounding his name. That chance should come in 2025.

2. SS George Lombard Jr., Age: 19
The Yankees 2023 first-round pick, George Lombard Jr., has MLB bloodlines through his father who is a former big leaguer and current bench coach for the Tigers. The younger Lombard has shown a lot of positives early in his career, despite low batting averages in both Single-A and High-A in 2024. A mature approach and ability to draw walks have remained consistent, and following a promotion he saw his strikeout rate drop in a 29-game sample. He should be able to hit the ball consistently while providing some power and speed. Still just 19 years old, there is seasoning needed, however, the tools are there for a jack-of-all-trades archetype as he progresses through his career.

3. RHP Chase Hampton, Age: 23
It was a tough season for Chase Hampton, who found himself on the IL for most of the year. A flexor strain kept him out early in the season, then after just a pair of starts, he suffered an injury to his lower body that ended his 2024 campaign. Those two starts came in Double-A where he totaled 5.2 shutout innings where he struck out four batters and walked three. This lost year came after 2023 when he struck out 145 batters and walked 37 with a 3.63 ERA in 106.2 innings. Hampton has shown that he can get swings and misses at a consistent rate. Without his injury-plagued season, he might’ve been knocking on the Yankees’ door, if not already debuted. It’s likely he starts 2025 in Double-A in hopes of having a healthy year and re-establishing himself as a future mid-rotation arm.
Chase Hampton's is just a nightmare for hitters at the top of the zone. Generating 19 inches of IVB from a 5.8 release height, it really takes off (MLB average is 15.7 inches from that release height) and his average VAA of -4.3 (MLB avg is -4.8) only adds to the perceived carry pic.twitter.com/BKFKDlDmkP

4. OF Spencer Jones, Age: 23
With a big 6-foot-6 frame and power to boot, Spencer Jones is an easy player to like. The former 25th-overall pick runs well and has a lot of pop at the plate. In 2024, he spent the whole season in Double-A where he hit .259 with 17 home runs and 25 stolen bases. Jones hits the ball hard, which helps him to make up for a 36.8 percent strikeout rate. Still, that number is not sustainable. For now, the tools are so big that he remains among the top five Yankees prospects, but if he doesn’t cut down on the strikeouts he will continue to fall. With the potential output Jones can provide with just a little improvement in his strikeout rate the payoff could be huge for dynasty managers who stay the course, but there is a significant amount of risk involved.
Have yourself a day, SPENCER JONES!

5. RHP Will Warren, Age: 25
Will Warren proved that he could strike batters out in 2024, recording 165 strikeouts in 132.1 innings between Triple-A and MLB. The majority of those innings came with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but he was able to log 22.2 innings in New York. Despite the whiffs, Warren still posted an ERA north of 5.00 in Triple-A, and it was over 10.00 in his short MLB stint. His walk numbers weren’t anything crazy, either. It was the home run ball that was his Achilles heel. Moving forward if he can keep the ball in the yard a little more there’s a lot to like, especially with proximity in mind. He may wind up a risky play because he can strike a lot of batters out with an inflated ERA. Warren should get another crack at things at some point in the upcoming season.

6. RHP Ben Hess, Age: 22
The Yankees 2024 first-round pick out of Alabama possesses a fastball that can reach 99 MPH. He usually sits in the mid-90s and works with a slider as his best secondary offering. Hess is set to debut professionally in 2025 with the hopes of developing into a mid-rotation arm. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, he has the frame to handle a starter’s workload. Command questions may hold him back, but if he can throw consistent strikes he should have the rest of the ingredients to find himself in a big-league rotation.
With the 26th overall pick, the New York Yankees have selected RHP Ben Hess. XL frame at 6โ5โ, 255-lbs. Down year, but intriguing pitch mix. Mid-90s FB up to 99 with riding life, 2 distinct breaking balls in a SL and CB. Can make the argument CH is +. pic.twitter.com/6HLqDGncpD

7. SS Roderick Arias, Age: 20
A switch-hitting middle infielder, Roderick Arias was regarded as one of, if not the, best international prospects in the 2022 class. He signed with the Yankees for $4 million. In 2024 he got his first taste of full-season ball, where he slashed .233/.335/.393 with 13 home runs and 37 stolen bases in Single-A, where he also posted a strikeout rate of over 30 percent. Arias was 19 all of last season, so he’ll need to make more contact in his age-20 season. If he does, he has the potential to contribute with stolen bases as well as chipping in some power.

8. RHP Clayton Beeter, Age: 26
Admittedly, this is probably high on Clayton Beeter because he doesn’t enter the year with a truly defined role. He appeared in relief for the Yankees last year but started seven of his 10 appearances in Triple-A. His output and true value to fantasy rosters will lie with how he is deployed. Either way, he strikes out plenty of batters, posting a K/9 over 12 in both Triple-A and MLB last year. If he keeps his walks in check, he may just find himself in a role where he eats innings as a reliever. There’s a lot of question marks here that will ultimately affect his value in fantasy formats.’

9. LHP Brock Selvidge, Age: 22
It’s been a tough go of things for Brock Selvidge since being drafted in the third round of the 2021 Draft. It took him two years to progress past the Complex before finally starting to climb, which led him to Double-A in 2024. Selvidge threw 84.2 innings with a 4.25 ERA and 83 strikeouts. Working with a mid-90s fastball and solid slider, he may wind up a back-end rotation arm. There is effort in his delivery that may eventually push him to the bullpen, where if his stuff plays he could handle medium-leverage situations. He’ll be 22 for the entire 2025 season where he should get a chance in Triple-A.

10. 2B Jorbit Vivas, Age: 23
I remain the high man on Jorbit Vivas, so take this ranking with a grain of salt. Statistically, he’s put up close to, or over, 10 home runs at the Triple-A level over the last two seasons while stealing over 20 bases in each season. What holds him back is his batting average in the low-.220s. Without him actually hitting more, he doesn’t have the power to impact a lineup enough to get regular playing time. However, he doesn’t strike out a lot and will walk at a good clip. Getting a little better contact would go a long way. His ceiling may be as a platoon bat at this point. Vivas is still on the 40-man roster, so his chance should be coming. This ranking is largely based on what I saw from him live a couple of years ago. He showed really good hands that lead me to believe there is more average in the tank for him. For fantasy managers, if he doesn’t reach another level with his ability to get hits in the upper minors, then he won’t be a viable option. But just a slight uptick could turn him into a stolen base threat who can contribute 10ish home runs.

11. RHP Bryce Cunningham, Age: 22
New York went SEC pitching heavy early in the 2024 Draft. In the first round they selected Ben Hess from Alabama, and in the second round they picked Bryce Cunningham out of Vanderbilt. Much like the arm selected before him by the Yankees, Cunningham is a big-bodied pitcher who can run it up to 99 MPH. He relies more on his changeup than his slider, but both are solid offerings. Once he debuts his outlook will become clearer, but he enters 2025 as a potential rotation piece of the future.

12. OF Everson Pereira, Age: 23
In 2023 Everson Pereira debuted with the Yankees, hitting .151 across 93 at-bats. He returned to Triple-A in 2024, hitting 10 home runs while slashing .265/.346/.512 through 162 at-bats before needing Tommy John surgery that ended his season. Assuming he comes back healthy, Pereira should get another opportunity in New York at some point in 2025. The risk is very high thanks to a strikeout rate that is very consistently around 30 percent, if not above that mark. While there is pedigree behind his name, the hit tool might prove just dampening enough to hold him back. For dynasty leagues, especially deeper ones, rostering a guy who is on the 40-man and should get a chance to contribute isn’t a terrible idea.
Yankees CF prospect Everson Pereira has freakish hands/bat speed. This fastball is running in on the black where most hitters would get tied up or jammed.

12. C Rafael Flores, Age: 24
The Yankees signed Rafael Flores as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He’s coming off a season where he hit 21 home runs with a .279 average between High-A and Double-A. He didn’t strike out at an alarming rate and walked at a double-digit clip. Flores has a power-over-hit profile at the plate that could provide pop from the first base position. He primarily played catcher in 2024 but played enough first base that it’s possible he winds up there long term which will put more pressure on his power to show through. Though he may debut in 2025, the signing of Paul Goldschmidt means he likely spends all of the next season in Triple-A, unless he plays his way up.

13. RHP Henry Lalane, Age: 20
When a pitcher stands a 6-foot-7, there is plenty of intrigue and lots of questions that come along with it. Henry Lalane looked primed to answer those questions in a positive way before a rough 2024. He was injured for much of the season, throwing only 12.1 innings with an ERA north of six. Because of that, it’s entirely possible that Lalane will return with a clean bill of health in 2025 and regain the helium he once had. Considering the injury, and that he has just six innings above the complex level, the risk associated drops him on this list. The talent is much higher than where he currently stands. In deeper leagues, he represents a low-cost and potentially enormous outcome type of player this offseason.
19 year old lefthander Henry Lalane went 3 IP, H, R, ER, 2 BB, 8 K mixing three pitches. FB sat 93-96 mph T97 mph, CHG 84-86 mph, SL 77-79 mph. 6-foot-7 lefty with big stuff and good FB shape. #RepBX pic.twitter.com/JkcPOrcjDo

14. RHP Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, Age: 21
The Yankees traded international bonus pool money for Elmer Rodriguez Cruz in December. This trade comes after a year that saw his fastball jump into the mid-90s to complement a solid breaking ball and changeup. Rodriguez-Cruz made it to High-A with the Red Sox in 2024 where he posted a 3.77 ERA with a 9.10 K/9 and 5.65 BB/9 in just 28.2 innings. That came after a 61-inning stint with a K/9 north of 10.0 and a much more reasonable 3.69 K/9 at the level below. The Yankees will likely start him in High-A. To this point Rodriguez-Cruz has done a good job at each level he’s been at, so it wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility that he ends the year in Double-A. If he can keep the strike rates then he should have fantasy relevance.

15. OF Brandon Mayea, Age: 19
Brandon Mayea was a top international prospect in the 2023 class, and he chose the Yankees. After a season in the DSL, he spent 2024 on the Complex where he slashed .281/.370/.326 with 19 stolen bases. While he showed a good ability to hit for average, walk, and steal bases, he also struck out 27 percent of the time. He’s not projected to have a lot of power, so reining in the strikeouts will be very important. From a fantasy standpoint, there’s a lot of pressure on him to continue to get on base at a high clip so his speed can play. There is a lot of upside and risk in the profile. He is somewhat unique for this list in that he’s one of the few prospects ranked that is hit over power, rather than the other way around.

16. RHP Cade Smith, Age: 22
In 2024 there was a Cade Smith who broke out for the Guardians, and the Yankees hope their 2023 sixth-rounder can do the same thing. New York’s Cade Smith spent most of his season in Single-A with a 31.4 percent strikeout rate in 85.2 innings of work. He has a really good slider and a fastball that tops out in the upper 90s. He could benefit from a step forward in command, and there’s likely some reliever risk in the profile. However, he’s shown plenty of ability to start so far in the lower minors. He’ll start 2025 in High-A where he posted two starts to end last season. He could be poised for a breakout year, but his fantasy value is likely tied to his ability to stay in the rotation.

17. 2B Roc Riggio, Age: 22
Though he hit just .221 in High-A in 2024, Yankees 2023 fourth-rounder Roc Riggio showed a lot of skills that make him one of the more interesting Yankee prospects heading into 2025. For starters he showed really good plate skills, striking out at a 20.2 percent clip and walking at a 14.8 percent clip. Riggio also showed the ability to hit for power, with 11 home runs, which looks nice next to his 27 stolen bases. There are a lot of positives to take from that performance. If he can improve his average, he shows the potential to add steals and maybe some power at the highest level. If he can help in average leagues, and keep walking enough for OBP leagues, then he could be a guy who starts to creep up prospect lists in 2025.

18. RHP Sabier Marte, Age: 20
Sabier Marte was a less-heralded prospect from the same class that brought the Yankees Roderick Arias. From the small amount of video available online, he appears to have a sharp slider and the ability to generate arm-side run on both a fastball and changeup. He shows some very good stuff that makes him very interesting. He should be in front of more cameras in 2025. On the Complex in 2024, Marte posted a 2.76 ERA with a 21.4 percent strikeout rate and a 7.8 percent walk rate. With a starter’s frame and some intriguing stuff, he’s a name to monitor during 2025 when he should make his Single-A debut.
5) Sabier Marte – RHP
With a 2.76 ERA and 58.2% GB%, Sabier Marte has shown off excellent strike-throwing abilities. He stands at 6'5 with an excellent changeup to pair with his slider and fastball.

19. OF Francisco Vilorio, Age: 18
The highest-paid player in New York’s 2024 IFA class was Francisco Vilorio. He fits the bill of Yankees hitting prospects with massive potential and a questionable hit tool. At 17 years old, Vilorio hit four home runs and stole eight bases while hitting .196 with a strikeout rate just a hair shy of 33 percent. While the pure power potential is exciting, there is plenty of risk attached to Vilorio as he moves through the Yankees organization. He’s still just 18, so his strikeout rates aren’t raising alarms, by any means, but he will need to reign in his ability to get bat to ball in the future.

20. RHP Thatcher Hurd, Age: 22
The trend of the Yankees taking SEC pitching in the 2024 draft continues with Thatcher Hurd, who New York took out of LSU. He touches 98 MPH with his fastball and has a high-spin slider. He has a really good bit of clay for New York’s development staff to work with, and that is cause for excitement. There is a big risk that he won’t be able to throw enough strikes, but the upside is also pretty high. He will debut professionally during the 2025 season.
The Yankees earlier selected RHP Thatcher Hurd. Up-and-down 2 years at LSU, but it's big league stuff. FB up to 97 with carry, high-spin (> 3,000 RPM) CB is plus, but best pitch might be his high-80s cutter. Chance for at least 3 60s. Great pick. pic.twitter.com/uKByH4rjvS
