Hard to believe we are on week 10 already. EPL Waiver Wire options get tough, as Fantrax Draft managers are grabbing available players to fill in voids on their roster. Midweek cup games had some key players getting hurt too. Be sure you’re checking injury reports to team news.
Play for each week. Play the matchups. There are still three teams without a win. They are the worst three defensive teams in the league too.
Week 9 option Elliot Anderson continued his consistent scoring, and while Evan Ferguson didn’t start, he did score as a sub.
Week 10 EPL Waiver wire suggestions (under 50% rostered) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Week 10 Fantasy EPL Draft Waiver Wire
Ashley Young – Defender – 44% Rostered Southampton vs Everton
I’ve been hesitant to recommend Young, as in previous seasons I’ve found him to be inconsistent. But since Everton has started to turn things (undefeated in their last five) around, Young’s fantasy production has been fantastic. Over the last five games, he has three assists and two clean sheets. He’s picking up points on the defensive end too. He won’t be available much longer on the EPL waiver wire.
Casemiro – Midfielder – 37% Rostered – Manchester United vs Chelsea
Casemiro has had back-to-back stellar games, including a goal last game. When he starts, the midfielder is producing points even without goals or assists. United will have to deal with a new manager, so we don’t know how Casimiro or anyone on United will fit into the new plans. We do know that after the Chelsea game, Man U have two easier matchups.
Matz Sels – Goalie – 36% Rostered – Nottingham Forest vs West Ham
Forest remains the second-best defensive team in the EPL, behind only Liverpool. Sels has been a big part of that success. He has four clean sheets. He’s only let in more than a goal in a single game, plus he has five games with four or more saves. This means he’s a keeper with a solid floor and a high ceiling. You’re most likely not losing points here, and there’s always a chance for a big weekend. He has two tougher home games in a row, before traveling to Arsenal, then back home against Ipswich. This is a decent stretch for a keeper who can make saves and a defense playing with confidence. He’s a quality choice on the EPL waiver wire.
George Hirst – Forward – 2% Rostered – Ipswich vs Leicester
In his first EPL start, Hirst scored a goal and added an assist. His 73 minutes last game were more than he’d accumulated collectively in his other sub appearances. It would be hard to keep him out of the lineup again with a game like that, though certainly there is no guarantee. Ipswich need someone to get their offense going, as they have yet to score 10 goals on the season. Opponents Leicester have conceded 17 goals, the fifth worst in the EPL.
Go with your gut and matchups on the EPL waiver wire.
Good luck!
