Well, that didn’t go exactly according to plan. The process was logical, but Zach Ertz fell four yards short of cashing his player prop. We didn’t have the same issue with Dalton Schultz, which made for a 1-1 week. Our other issue was that an injury kept Darius Slayton out of the lineup.
Now that we covered the past, let’s look towards the future. There are a lot of options available to us, so let’s dig into our Week 12 NFL Prop Plays on DraftKings.

Week 12 NFL Prop Plays (DraftKings)
Theo Johnson Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
While we did see a slight emergence from Theo Johnson when Jaxson Dart took over, it was coming regardless. The rookie tight end is an athletic option who has been able to step into a void within the New York Giants’ receiving corps.
At this point, it still remains unclear whether it will be Jaxson Dart this week, although it is likely. If not, Jameis Winston gets another start after connecting with Johnson for three catches and 36 yards last week. That would put him as close as possible to his prop play for this week, but we still like it.
On the season, Johnson has 36 catches for 350 yards, but there are a few big games in there that highlight the budding chemistry with him and Dart. This week, it’s going to require a large effort by the Giants to keep up with the Detroit Lions offense. That means the Giants should be taking to the air, and Johnson should prove to be the beneficiary. That’s especially the case if we get to a prevent defense, as Johnson can be a secure safety blanket.
Drake Maye Over 254.5 Passing Yards (-112)
So far this season, Drake Maye has been anything but average. In fact, he’s been an MVP candidate. If we are going to go based on averages, though, Maye is at 258 passing yards per game. With his prop play on the over requiring him to surpass 254.5 passing yards, it stands out to me.
When digging into Maye for Week 12, we also have to take a look at his opponent. Maye is facing the Cincinnati Bengals, who are ranked 31st in passing yards allowed at 257.3 per game.
At the risk of making things overly simple, if both Maye and the Bengals do what they have been doing all season, we’re in good shape. Taking things further, Maye has hit the over on his player prop in each of the last four weeks and six of seven. This is a perfect situation for him to continue that stretch.
John Metchie III Over 24.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
Talk about a low hurdle to climb on this prop play. This is also the perfect example of the state of the New York Jets offense as we enter Week 12. They did switch to Tyrod Taylor under center, so we should see some improvement in the passing game.
In the case of John Metchie, it’s also about simply being there. The Jets’ offense isn’t exactly overfilled with receiving candidates, and someone has to catch a few passes. After Adonai Mitchell struggled with that aspect of the game last week, would it be a stretch to call Metchie the Jets’ WR1?
He did earn that last week. Metchie caught all three of his targets for 45 yards, but it was also notable that he caught a touchdown pass. At the least, even without the touchdown (that we don’t care about here), Metchie should have a repeat performance in Week 12.
