Fantasy Hockey Week 14 Goalie Streamers
Jet Greaves, Columbus Blue Jackets
If you or anyone else hasn’t picked up Jet Greaves yet, this will likely be your last chance. He has, without a doubt, locked down the starter’s net for the Columbus Blue Jackets and has been stellar. He could have arguably earned an invite to Team Canada with his play.
Greaves hasn’t allowed more than three goals against in a game since late November. That’s 11 consecutive starts, and he has won four of his past five games with a .944 SV%. The Blue Jackets aren’t a playoff team because the Eastern Conference is so tight, but they are two games above .500, and Greaves is starting almost every game. The Blue Jackets play four times this week, and he should get three of the starts against the San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights, and either the Colorado Avalanche or Utah Mammoth.
Philipp Grubauer, Seattle Kraken
Philipp Grubauer lost the starting job for the Seattle Kraken last season, but his consistently strong play has him back in the mix, starting more games again. He has seven wins in 10 starts with a 2.32 GAA and .920 SV%, some of the best in the NHL. The Kraken are set to play their fourth consecutive back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday, so the veteran will get another start. He has started the opening game of the last three back-to-backs and won them all.
Grubauer has a .970 SV% over his last three games, and he will get to play either the Calgary Flames or Boston Bruins early in the week before he earns another start against the Minnesota Wild or Carolina Hurricanes. The Kraken hold a playoff spot and will do whatever it takes to continue coming away with wins. Grubauer deserves the starts he will be getting moving forward.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, Buffalo Sabres
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is coming off a tough start in which the Buffalo Sabres’ 10-game win streak was snapped, but he has played well and is the starter in Buffalo for the time being. Alex Lyon is on the IR, and prior to stopping 30 of 34 shots in a loss, he had three consecutive wins while posting a .955 SV% or better.
Luukkonen has a 2.58 GAA and .901 SV% on the season, which is respectable, and the Sabres have three easier games this week, all spread out. Expect Luukkonen to start at least two of them, if not get in for all three, against the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, and Anaheim Ducks.
