Week 17 NFL Survivor Picks

The fact that you’ve made it this far is remarkable. Even if you are using our weekly survivor picks for other betting purposes, there’s certainly value in doing so. We’re at the point in the season where games become that much more one-sided. That’s especially the case when only one team has something to play for.

Desperation certainly drives results, but for the Detroit Lions, that wasn’t the case last week. Other than that, we did find success with our survivor picks. Now, it’s time to run it back.

It’s important to remember that we have three games on Thursday as well as two on Saturday. Let’s jump right into who we are considering for our Week 17 NFL Survivor Picks.

Week 17 NFL Survivor Picks

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Broncos -13.5

Messy, messy, messy. I generally like to avoid divisional matchups, but I’m not sure we have a choice here. Yes, the game is in Kansas City, but at this point, I don’t even know if that matters. The Chiefs are 5-3 at home this season, but that success has come early in the season, and they are now on a four-game losing streak.

With an over/under of only 36.5 points, there isn’t much offense expected. Considering both Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew are out, leaving Chris Oladokun under center, it’s not a surprise. When you factor in that the Broncos are favored by two touchdowns, it really leaves minimal offense for the Chiefs.

It was going to be tough for Oladokun against any team, but the Broncos are allowing the fifth fewest points this season at 19.7. The Chiefs defense is equally as strong, but Bo Nix is the more capable quarterback, and he can put Denver on top. This figures to be one of Denver’s better defensive weeks of the season.

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets – Patriots -13.5

The New York Jets are going back to Brady Cook at quarterback this week, and the results are not going to be good. They weren’t for New York before Cook to the reigns, and things are only getting worse. Cook has just one touchdown pass, compared to six interceptions, and only 527 passing yards in his three games.

Across the field, Drake Maye is making his case for the MVP award. To this point, Maye has thrown for 3,947 yards and 25 touchdowns compared to just eight interceptions. When facing a defense that seemingly doesn’t have an identity and is ranked 30th with 28.4 points allowed per game, it’s not a fair fight.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals – Bengals -7

Considering how bad the Cincinnati Bengals defense has been this season, anything can happen. While they do rank last with 30.5 points allowed per game, Arizona isn’t much better, allowing 27.6 points per game.

Where things change, though, is when we look into the offensive huddles. Yes, Jacoby Brissett has had some solid weeks, but that’s also because all he’s done is throw the ball. The quantity has been there, but we can’t say the same for his big play potential or efficiency. Marvin Harrison has struggled to find consistency, and we certainly aren’t saying that about Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

At the end of the day, I’m putting my faith in Joe Burrow. Simply, I can’t see him getting outgunned by Brissett.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Miami Dolphins – Buccaneers -5.5

Someone has to win this game, right? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are working on a three-game losing streak, while the Miami Dolphins are at two. Miami is not only looking towards next season, but they turned the page at quarterback. Their opponents still have a chance at the NFC South, but in order to do that, they need to win. Of course, they needed wins in the last three games as well.

With two Florida teams taking the field against each other, there’s no home-field advantage here. Ewers did throw for 313 yards in his debut, but he failed to reach the end zone and had two interceptions.

Baker Mayfield is healthy for Tampa Bay, and while their defense has struggled at times, they are facing Ewers under center. If we want to take the desperation angle, the Buccaneers have us covered, and that might be an understatement.
