The Week 33 EPL Waiver Wire has given managers at least a full week to make adjustments, after a set of back to back to back game weeks.
A slip from Liverpool means Arsenal sit top of the league on goal differential, with Manchester City just a single point behind them. Man City and Arsenal had thrilling midweek Champions League games and will again next week too, so we should have some rotation from both. Miguel Arteta and Pep Guardiola will have to be making some decisions concerning rest and lineups. Teams can’t afford to drop points.
At the bottom of the table, Nottingham Forrest has only a goal differential separating them and Luton from relegation. A further point deduction for Everton had made their fans even more nervous, as they are just two points up.
Things are going down to the wire here!
The top EPL Waiver Wire suggestions for week 33 are listed below in order of most to least rostered in Fantrax.
Week 33 Fantasy EPL Waiver Wire
Jan-Paul van Hecke – Defender – 32% Rostered – Burnley vs Brighton
van Hecke and BHA defense travel to 19th place Burnley, who have scored only 32 goals this season. He’s as close to sure starter as you’re going to get. This is a steady choice with very little downside, and with a chance at some points on both ends of the ball against a poor Burnley squad.
Kobbie Mainoo – Midfielder – 23% – Bournemouth vs Manchester United
His goal against Liverpool was one United fans will remember for a long time. It showed off the promise and quality that the young Mainoo has. He plays much more defensively, but he’s on the ball often and he’s active from end to end. He’s going to score consistent positive points, and maybe his goal will inspire some more attacking play. You could do worse on the EPL waiver wire.
Matt Doherty – Defender – 21% – Nottingham Forrest vs Wolves
Doherty has now started two in a row now, albeit in a more central defensive role, as opposed to a wider position, where he found so much success in previous seasons. He has some attacking ability, and I’ve been waiting for him to have more opportunities to show it. Wolves will be favored over 17th-place Forrest, who are struggling.
Jacob Bruun Larsen – Forward – 12% Rostered – Burnley vs Brighton
He’s scored two over this last four, both at home. Larsen provides quality attacking from the wings, which Burnley will need if they want to make one final push to stay in the EPL. As an EPL waiver wire choice, he’s got some upside, especially playing against Brighton, who like to play an open and attacking style, leaving them open for goals.
Six games left! Things are moving quickly! At this stage, holding players makes less sense. Go for the win and go with your gut.
Good luck!
