Week 5 Wide Receiver Sleepers and Streamers

Sleepers and streamers for wide receivers are here. Last week was not a good week. Keenan Allen and Elic Ayomanor did not produce as expected. Ayomanor is getting targeted by Cam Ward more than other Tennessee Titans receivers, but it did not equate to anything in Week 4. Matthew Golden did have double-digits once again, but it was not what I expected against a bad Dallas Cowboys defense. Chris Olave had 10 fantasy points, but I think, as streamers, we should aim for players to have over 15 fantasy points. The bye weeks start for some teams in Week 5. There will be a repeated face in this week’s edition. I will be better.

Wide Receiver Sleepers

Adonai Mitchell vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Adonai Mitchell finished as the WR30 in Week 4. He had three receptions and 96 yards. His WR30 finish could have been WR18, but he let go of the football before entering the endzone on an amazing catch and move after the catch. Despite that, it was nice to see him go almost for 100 yards on just three catches against a tough Los Angeles Rams defense.

In Week 5, he gets a softer matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are allowing 41.13 fantasy PPG to wide receivers. That is the third most through one month of football. On the other side, the Indianapolis Colts are allowing the fourth most fantasy PPG to the position. This game will feature a lot of passing, so consider Mitchell as one of the better sleepers this upcoming week.

Wan’Dale Robinson @ New Orleans Saints

The worst news in Week 4 was that Malik Nabers tore his ACL. He will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season. That means the next man up as the New York Giants’ WR1 will be Wan’Dale Robinson. Can Robinson be a WR1? Probably not, but he is a PPR treasure given the number of targets he sees. He faces the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. They are allowing 33.75 fantasy PPG to the position. That is the 14th most. I do not expect Robinson to be a WR1, but with the football needing to be thrown somewhere, I am betting on Robinson to have a top 30 finish in Week 5.

Wide Receiver Streamers

Chris Olave vs. New York Giants

The team that is allowing the second-most fantasy PPG to wide receivers this season is the New York Giants. They are giving up 41.37 fantasy PPG. Chris Olave was able to produce in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills. He will do it once again, against a softer defense. Olave has seen 43 targets in four games this season. That is an average of 10.75 targets per game. He is a fantastic choice to be one of your streamers in Week 5.

Khalil Shakir vs New England Patriots

Having your QB be Josh Allen has its benefits. Khalil Shakir has seen consecutive weeks of over 14 fantasy points. Also, he has had touchdowns in Week 3 and Week 4. I expect Shakir to have his third consecutive game of double-digit points. With a handful of teams on a bye in Week 5, Shakir is one of the better streamers this week. Riding the hot hand is sometimes necessary in fantasy football. These are one of those instances.
