Week 7 NFL Survivor Picks

Alright, that’s a little more reasonable. Once we got past a divisional upset to begin the week, order was seemingly restored. That doesn’t mean we get to relax, though. With six weeks behind us, the NFL season is truly humming along. Let’s jump right into our Week 7 NFL Survivor Picks.

Week 7 NFL Survivor Picks

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders – Chiefs -12.5

At 3-3, this isn’t the start to the season we’ve come to expect from the Kansas City Chiefs. To this point, their performance has been uneven, but there’s a lot of football left to be played.

The Chiefs did a great job of following up a last-minute loss in Jacksonville with a strong home victory in Week 6. It was a primetime game, so we really shouldn’t have been surprised, but Kansas City took care of business against the Detroit Lions.

Not only did the Chiefs hold the Lions to 17 points, but they put up 30 points. Patrick Mahomes threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns while Travis Kelce had his best game of the season (six catches for 78 yards). Things also get better for the Chiefs as Rashee Rice is slated to potentially return.

On the other hand, the Las Vegas Raiders are 2-4 and looking towards their bye week. Ashton Jeanty and his four yards per carry are the Raiders’ strength, but I’m not sure it’s going to be enough. They rank 29th with 17 points scored per game, and Geno Smith isn’t in a position to outduel Mahomes on the road. Not having Brock Bowers also makes things more difficult for the Raiders.

This is a tough week, and while the chalk is going to be on the Chiefs, sometimes we have to follow along. If not, it’s likely going to be a stressful Sunday.

New England Patriots at Tennessee Titans – Patriots -6.5

Following a coaching change, it’s always difficult to judge how a team will react. That’s the case in Tennessee as the Titans look to get their 1-5 season on track. If that’s the angle we’re going to play, the New England Patriots aren’t without a similar narrative.

After a failed coaching stint in Tennessee, Mike Vrabel’s second act is seemingly going better in New England. As he heads back to his previous home, Vrabel will be motivated to get some revenge.

It’s been a slow adjustment to life in the NFL for Cam Ward. The rookie is averaging 200 passing yards per game to go along with three touchdowns and four interceptions. With Calvin Ridley sidelined for the week, the Titans are going to have to lean on Elic Ayomanor. While the rookie has shown some flashes, it’s also been an inconsistent go of it for Ayomanor.

On the other hand, the Patriots are coming in on a three-game winning streak. That includes a strong road victory in Buffalo as Drake Maye is coming into his own. The Tennessee defense is ranked 26th overall, with 27 points allowed per game. Maye is in position to exploit that while he’s supported by the seventh-best scoring defense.

Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals – Packers -6.5

I don’t love this pick, but do we really trust the Arizona Cardinals? Kyler Murray might be returning to action, and in reality, I’m not sure if it’s a good thing for the Cardinals.

In what I expected to be a blowout in Indianapolis, the Cardinals made a real game out of it against the Colts. Jacoby Brissett threw for 327 yards and kept Arizona in the game. However, their defense didn’t help the case by allowing 31 points.

Facing the Packers defense won’t be an easy task for Arizona. This is regardless of who’s under center for the Cardinals. We also can’t overstate the fact that the Cardinals’ backfield is certainly in flux, with James Conner and Trey Benson both sidelined. Green Bay is ranked fifth with 294 total yards allowed per game and seventh at 20 points.

Given how close the Cardinals came to a victory last week, and the fact that they’re at home, there’s a level of concern here. But there are a lot of concerns surrounding Arizona, and they face a first-place Green Bay team.

Denver Broncos vs. New York Giants – Broncos -7.5

Break glass in case of emergency. If you can’t select one of the first three teams, here’s another option. However, you could make the argument that this is a fade more than anything.

The Broncos did have an elite defense performance against the New York Jets last week, but their offense also struggled. Denver and Bo Nix managed just 13 points, and the Broncos also have a quick turnaround after playing in Europe last week.

New York is coming off a strong victory against Philadelphia, in which the Eagles never really had a chance in the second half. While there wasn’t much asked of Jaxson Dart, the rookie quarterback was more than capable of living up to the moment. And we truly can’t say enough good things about Cam Skattebo.

Both teams are in a tough spot for Week 7. The Broncos are the better team, but it remains to be seen by how much or what will transpire this week.

I’m thinking it will be a close game, but the home team does get the slight edge.
