Week 7 is here. A third of the NFL season is already over. Has it gone the way you expected? Unless you’re one of the alleged script-writers, I wouldn’t think so.
Which brings us to the Week 7 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers. Perhaps you find yourself needing a new signal caller due to injury, or maybe the guy you thought was a set-and-forget hasn’t worked out that way. Whatever brings you here, I’m happy to have you.

As a recap, we went .500 with our calls in Week 6.
Sam Darnold is the QB8 heading into Monday night, throwing for 295 yards and 2 scores. He’s currently the QB11 on the season and playing consistently enough to be a weekly play if you ever need him.
Jared Goff (barely) surpassed our 15 fantasy-point requirement and is currently a top-half at the position, which means we can count him as a win.
Jordan Love finished with just under 15 points and will definitely be outside the top half once the Monday Night dust settles. He didn’t kill you, but it wasn’t the boom game against the Bengals we expected. He’s an L.
Finally, Spencer Rattler had his worst fantasy output of the season, failing to find the endzone. His volume still makes him a dart throw if ever you need one.
Current Season Tally: 17-9
Let’s see if we can improve things in Week 7.
Week 7 Quarterback Sleepers
Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers QB vs. Indianapolis Colts
In case you were wondering, Herbert is the not-quite-set-and-forget Quarterback I alluded to earlier. After Week 1, I thought I had hit gold with him in one league and was confident enough to drop Dak. While that hasn’t proved to be a wise decision, I think Herbert will be turning a corner moving forward.
Week 6 saw his third-most attempts and yardage of the season. It was also his third-highest yards-per-attempt (6.9) since Week 2 (9.0), a promising sign after the major dip in weeks 3-5, and a surprising one with deep-threat Quentin Johnston sidelined.
With their two starting running backs both injured, the team is likely to keep up the higher passing volume for the next few weeks. The Colts are a good, but not great, defense that the Chargers should be able to throw on. Indy is also a surprisingly efficient offense that could turn this into a high-scoring affair.
We should expect more quick throws so long as the O-line is banged up, but it’s possible that Joe Alt returns this week. If that happens, Herbert should get more time for the deep attempts. Either way, I’m still optimistic for Herbert moving forward, and wouldn’t be looking to change horses mid-stream just yet.
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans QB @ Seattle Seahawks
Stroud had his best game of the season in Week 5, before getting an early-season bye in Week 6. The short attention span of fantasy players likely means he’s going to be overlooked this week.
The Seahawks are a formidable matchup on defense, so this isn’t going to be a cake walk. I expect Seattle to get an early lead, which will force the Texans to throw. The horrible offensive line will likely mean that those throws are short.
While that doesn’t sound like a recipe for success, I think the team is going to buy into this approach moving forward and should have the ability to implement it with the extra week for preparation. Stroud’s only topped 30 pass attempts once this season, but that should change this week.
Christian Kirk will be another week healthier and should see good volume in the slot. He’s a solid enough receiver to rely on to pad Stroud’s yardage. We’ve also seen more life out of Nico Collins lately, and are just waiting for one of his true blowup games.
Coming off a bye week, Stroud is hovering right around 50% rostered, so he likely could be a streamer in your league.
Week 7 Quarterback Streamers
Jaxson Dart, New York Giants QB @ Denver Broncos
Coming off the surprise upset over the Eagles, this could be Dart’s last week of eligibility in the streamers section, as he’s likely to top the 50% rostered mark after waivers clear. If he’s still available, grab him immediately.
Despite 40 pass attempts in Week 5, Dart still hasn’t surpassed 202 yards through the air. The team is utilizing short, safe passes to protect the rookie, especially after losing Mallik Nabers for the season. The matchup this week isn’t great for passing, but the Broncos can be run on. So far, that’s where Dart has excelled.
He’s averaging 10 rushing attempts per game, and has hit essentially the same yardage total in all three starts (55, 54, and 58). He’s also run in scores in two of the three games. The majority of these attempts are scrambles, and you can see he really knows when and where to pick his spots.
The way he runs should make managers a bit wary of potential injury, and we already saw him get checked for a concussion in Week 6. He’s also going to have his bad games, like any rookie will. You have to love his moxie, though, and while he’s running hot, he’s worth the shot.
Spencer Rattler, New Orleans QB @ Chicago Bears
Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment, maybe I’m just unwilling to admit defeat, but either way, I’m throwing Rattler back out there this week. While it has rarely worked on paper so far, I’m just one of those people who feels convinced when things seem like they should work.
Week 6 was actually his lowest pass attempt volume of the season at 26. He only has one other game with fewer than 31. The team has been progressively throwing deeper, and his yards-per-attempt were his highest so far.
Chris Olave is having his route tree opened and was finally dominant against the Patriots. Rattler’s chemistry with deep-threat Rashid Shaheed also looks to be improving. He also still serves as a rushing threat, although he did lose out on a goal-line snap to Taysom Hill, which could be a thing moving forward and is worth monitoring.
So far, the Bears have been a defense to target, and I think the Saints are going to find themselves in the win column. If they do, don’t be surprised if it’s on the back of Rattler’s best game.
