The EPL Waiver Wire is back now that the international break is over. I hope your Fantrax Draft players returned uninjured, but I did see some players coming back with knocks. Luckily we’re here with some options to fill in.
Week 7 suggestion, Mikkel Damsgaard had two assists and 25.5 points against lowly Wolves. It’s a reminder to go with the good matchups. Even in a 1-0 loss, Maxence Lacroix scored 11, and keeper suggestion Mads Hermansen earned his first clean sheet of the season.
Week 8 EPL Waiver wire suggestions (under 50% rostered) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Week 8 Fantasy EPL Draft Waiver Wire
Georginio Rutter – Forward – 29% Rostered – Newcastle vs Brighton
Rutter has scored in two straight games, and it was against Chelsea and Spurs. It’s taken him a while to settle in, but it looks like he’s finding his form. He has 16 total shots so far this season, so he’s not afraid to let them fly. The Seagulls have scored seven goals over their three games. Newcastle and Brighton are tired on points, so this a big game for both teams.
Abdoulaye Doucoure– Midfielder – 27% Rostered – Ipswich vs Everton
The Everton midfielder started the season slow, as did Everton in general. It’s no surprise that his return to form and playing the full 90 minutes in the last three games have coincided with a win and two draws. They conceded 10 goals in their first three games, but only two goals in their last three, including a shutout draw against Newcastle. Doucoure gets points on both sides of the ball and will pop up for a goal from time to time too. They travel to 17th place Ipswich, who has yet to win. There’s a case to be made for EPL waiver wire pickups for both Ashley Young and Michael Keane who are both rostered in under 10% of leagues.
Wout Faes – Defender – 21% Rostered – Southampton vs Leicester
Faes is returning solid points against the teams you’d expect defenses to score solid points against. Southampton is the worst-scoring team in the EPL, with only four total goals and one at home. Faes and even this defensive teammate, Caleb Okoli, are good options this week on the EPL waiver wire.
Jorginho – Defender – 6% Rostered – Bournemouth vs Arsenal
Thomas Partey is most likely out, and there are other injury concerns for Arsenal. Meaning the Gunners will have some different options most likely playing this weekend. Jorginho is the most likely candidate to fill in for Partey, especially positionally. It’s a solid matchup, so Arsenal should control the game. Bournemouth’s two wins came against bottom five teams (Everton and Southampton). There’s a chance here that Mikel Merino (rostered in 44% of teams already) starts in place of Jorginho, so keep your eyes out for any news.

Good luck!
