Fantasy Hockey Week 8 Goalie Streamers

Jet Greaves, Columbus Blue Jackets

The young Jet Greaves has completely taken over the starter role for the Columbus Blue Jackets just like that. After evenly splitting the games with Elvis Merzlikins up until November 10, Greaves started on back-to-back nights and has played seven of the last eight games.

Greaves has won four of his past six games and has had a SV% of .906 or better in four of those games as well. On the season, he has a 2.80 GAA and .904 SV%, which is respectable given how many goalies are below that. The Blue Jackets play against the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Pittsburgh Penguins. I expect two, maybe all three starts for Greaves, especially if he continues to play well and better than Merzlikins.

Cam Talbot, Detroit Red Wings

It had started to become clear that the Detroit Red Wings had made up their mind on who they were going to start more for the remainder of the season, and it wasn’t Cam Talbot despite playing just as well as John Gibson. That has changed recently as Talbot has started four of the last six games for the Red Wings and won all four.

The veteran also has a .909 SV% or better in all four of those wins and is up to nine wins on the season in just 10 starts. The Red Wings play very confidently in front of him and he is almost an automatic win for fantasy hockey at this point, proving great value when he starts. He has a 2.66 GAA and .899 SV% this season and Detroit matches up against the New Jersey Devils, Nashville Predators, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Boston Bruins. The best bet would be that he plays two times this week, as he also started the previous two games.

Dan Vladar, Philadelphia Flyers

Dan Vladar has been the clear-cut starter for the Philadelphia Flyers since the beginning of the season and has really become what the team had hoped when bringing in a new goalie to settle things down. He has only failed to play two games in a row one time. Vladar has won two straight games and posted a .914 SV% or better in four of his past five games.

The Flyers hold a playoff spot as of Sunday and aren’t all that bad of a team. They are finding ways to win and that’s helping the value of Vladar. He had eight wins, a 2.42 GAA, and .912 SV% this season, which is well above average. The Flyers also play the Lightning, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, and Devils, so Vladar should be starting three of those games.
