2025 Fantasy Football: Week 1 Wide Receiver Rankings

Fantasy football is back, and there is no better feeling than getting ready to watch the first kickoff on Thursday night. On the other hand, if you’re not feeling too confident in your draft, then it could be a stressful week. But I have you covered for your wide receiver needs. Week 1 is always tough, figuring out who to start, but I will guide you through it with my wide receiver rankings this week and for the rest of the season.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Let’s start with Drake London as my WR7 going against the Buccaneers. I expect a huge leap from London this year with Michael Penix under center. Penix only started three games last season, but in those three games, he targeted London 39 times, which led to 352 yards on 22 receptions and two touchdowns. This week, the Falcons have the Buccaneers, who aren’t strong against wide receivers. Last season, they gave up 30 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. London is a WR1 lock this week.
  • Tyreek Hill is one who dropped in a ton of drafts, but this could be his make-or-break week against the Colts. I have him as my WR16 right in between Marvin Harrison Jr. and Davante Adams. The Colts did add some depth to their secondary with Xavien Howard and Charvarius Ward. This could cause problems for Hill, but as for some positives, he is healthy, Tua Tagovailoa is healthy for now and Jonnu Smith is gone. I don’t expect Darren Waller to steal many targets, and this will be a bounce-back season for Hill. He is aging, but if you snagged him in the fourth round or later, then you take the risk on him.
  • Lastly, I have George Pickens as my WR27 going against the Eagles. Pickens is a flex start this week, but I can see him jumping up inside the top-15 in the next few weeks. The Cowboys have no run game as of now, and I expect Dak Prescott to average around 40 attempts a game this year. CeeDee Lamb will get a ton of attention, which should leave Pickens to one coverage. This will be the first year Pickens has a legit quarterback, and I expect him to be an X factor for the Cowboys this season.
