Week 3 is here, and the Tight End landscape has already gotten a bit murky. Before we dive, double-check your waivers for the following players in case they are available:

Week 3 Tight End Streamers
Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
Schultz came out of Week 1 as Houston’s top target earner. Unfortunately, it’s not saying much as Houston only scored 9 points and the offense looked inconsistent. However, Schultz has proven fantasy relevance in the past, and there’s no reason he can’t get back there. I don’t expect Houston’s offense to stay this sluggish for long, and Schultz feels like the type of veteran tight end who can quietly become a solid contributor as a streamer in a pinch.
In Week 3, the Texans will square off against Jacksonville. Last season, Schultz found success versus this defense, posting 8 receptions, 95 yards, and a touchdown across their two divisional meetings. With Christian Kirk likely sidelined again due to a hamstring injury, there’s a real chance Schultz builds on that history and delivers a decent stat line.
Theo Johnson, New York Giants
Johnson is slowly earning more of the starting Tight End role in New York. After a quiet Week 1, he had 4 catches for 34 yards against Dallas. The stat line isn’t eye-popping, but the usage is what matters: he played 56 of 67 offensive snaps, while Daniel Bellinger and Chris Manhertz were mostly relegated to special teams. The Giants are trusting Johnson with a near every-down role.
Johnson faces the Chiefs at home for Week 3 in a tough spot — Kansas City has only allowed 5 total receptions to tight ends so far — but the playing time and involvement give Johnson streaming/stash consideration.
Week 3 Tight End Sleepers
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
Likely has yet to see the field this season due to a foot injury, but the reports are trending in the right direction for Week 3. He’s increasing his activity in practice and could be ready to suit up against Detroit. The more interesting cup of tea is Mark Andrews. Despite being healthy, Andrews has been invisible through two games — just 2 catches for 7 yards on 4 targets. If Andrews continues to struggle, Likely could carve out a much bigger role in this passing attack.
We’ve seen flashes of Likely’s upside before and he has the skill set we look for to produce at a high level. Given the scarcity at the position, I’d stash him now in any format.
Ja’Tavion Sanders, Carolina Panthers
Sanders was a guy I loved coming out of Texas last year. The athletic measurables were off the charts, and he landed in a solid spot in Carolina. Unfortunately, rookie woes and a concussion late last season were all we really saw from him.
However, in Week 2 against Arizona, he delivered 7 receptions for 54 yards on 9 targets. The usage behind this performance was even more telling. Sanders ran a route on nearly 70% of Bryce Young’s drop-backs and commanded a 16.3% target share.
Carolina’s defense has been bleeding points, which means Young will be forced to throw plenty in negative game scripts. Sanders has an opportunity to be second or third in the pecking order. With multiple favorable matchups upcoming for the tight end, it wouldn’t surprise me if Sanders continues to post outings like these, that he finishes as a low-end TE1.
