It’s time to look at the big start and sit decisions for Week 9 of fantasy football. This edition is for quarterbacks and running backs. Last week was an average week.
Michael Penix Jr. ended up not playing, but Jordan Love shone bright like a diamond. The Green Bay Packers improved to 5-1-1 and have the second-best record in football. Love did exactly what I said he would do. He would play his best game against the man he replaced, Aaron Rodgers. Love finished as the QB1 in Week 8. He had 34.30 fantasy points, three touchdowns, and 360 passing yards.
As for running backs, Breece Hall had 34 fantasy points, over 130 rushing yards, and he finished as a top-five running back.

Week 9 Quarterback and Running Back Starts and Sits
Quarterback Starts
Sam Darnold @ Washington Commanders
Sam Darnold has played well this season. He did not play so well in Week 7, and then the Seattle Seahawks had a bye in Week 8. He had just nine fantasy points against the Houston Texans in his last game, but he has a better matchup in Week 9. Darnold faces the Commanders, who just got tormented by Patrick Mahomes. The Commanders are allowing 20 fantasy PPG to opposing QBs this season. That is the fifth-most.
Joe Flacco vs Chicago Bears
Joe Flacco played amazingly in Week 8 against the New York Jets. He and Joe Burrow are not the same, but the Cincinnati Bengals offense has not missed a step. Flacco had 28.32 fantasy points and finished as the QB7. He now faces the Bears at home. The Bears are a bottom-ten team against QBs this season.
Quarterback Sits
Bo Nix @ Houston Texans
Bo Nix went crazy in Week 8. He and the Denver Broncos destroyed the Dallas Cowboys. Nix finished as the QB6 and had 31.78 fantasy points. Although he played well, the matchup he has this week is much tougher. He faces the Texans. The Texans are allowing less than 11 fantasy ppg to QBs this season. That is the best amongst all NFL defenses. Despite Nix having a fabulous season and the Broncos being 6-2, leave him on your bench this week.
Running Back Starts
Kimani Vidal @ Tennessee Titans
Kimani Vidal has done well filling in as the Los Angeles Chargers RB1 with Omarion Hampton hurt. Vidal had 117 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. He finished as the RB8. Vidal now has two RB1 finishes in the past three weeks and has an even easier matchup in Week 9. The Titans are horrible and are allowing 28.30 fantasy points to opposing RBs this season.
Rhamondre Stevenson vs Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons’ defense looked great to start the season, but the offense has since impacted that. With the offense playing badly, the defense cannot catch a break and get off the field. Rhamondre Stevenson should benefit from that when the New England Patriots play the Falcons in Week 9. Stevenson finished as the RB35 after finishing as the RB13 two weeks ago. Things should open up more for him this upcoming week.

Running Back Sits
Alvin Kamara @ Los Angeles Rams
The Rams are one of the best teams in football. The New Orleans Saints are one of the worst. Alvin Kamara has been affected by this and needs to get traded. Kamara is one of the best running backs of his generation, but having the worst season of his career. He is the RB23. The Rams are allowing 15.90 fantasy PPG to opposing running backs. That is the second-best this season. It is not Kamara who cannot be trusted; it is the Saints’ offense.
Carolina Panthers RBs @ Green Bay Packers
The Packers have turned into one of the best teams against the run. They used to always be one of the worst. Rico Dowdle’s fun has run out, and Chuba Hubbard is back. With that being said, just like the Buffalo Bills blew out the Panthers, the Packers will do the same. These running backs cannot be trusted.
