Matt Hicks and I examine four more NFL Draft prospects on the Rookie Big Board series. Each player is analyzed using a statistical model, film clips, and a scouting lens. In the second installment of the series, Cam Ward, TreVeyon Henderson, Matthew Golden, and Tyler Warren are explored. Enjoy my fellow diehards!
2025 NFL Draft Prospect Preview
QB Cam Ward, Miami
6-1 and 223 pounds
Games Played: 38
Passing Efficiency: 148.8
Is Cam Ward the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2025 Class? The former Hurricane clearly has the arm strength, physical frame and mental acumen to succeed in the NFL. A zestful passer, he is not opposed to throwing into small cracks or attempting hero-ball passes. He processes information rapidly and makes progression reads. Under duress, Ward remains focused with opponents bearing down on him, avoiding pass rushers and keeping eyes downfield. In 2024, he was named ACC Player of the Year and consensus First Team All-American after setting school single-season passing records for yards with 4,313 and touchdowns with 39. There is no doubt that Ward comes off the board within the first five picks in the Draft.
RB TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
5-10 and 212 pounds
Body Mass Index: 30.4
Scrimmage Yards Dominator: 21%
It has been a pleasure to watch TreVeyon Henderson over the past four years. A five-star recruit in high school, Henderson signed with Ohio State and made a significant impact when he first put on cleats for the Buckeyes. In 2021, he rushed for more than 1,200 yards and scored 19 total touchdowns, earning Second Team All-Big Ten and Freshman All-American honors. As a senior last year, he shared the backfield chores with Quinshon Judkins and helped lead Ohio State to the National Championship. At 5-10 and 212 pounds, the two-time 1,000-yard rusher is a three-down back with stupendous contact balance and fancy footwork. I have a first-round grade on Henderson and expect him to come off the board on Day 1 of the Draft.
WR Matthew Golden, TexasÂ
6-0 and 195 pounds
Yards Per Reception: 14.7
Team Aerial Dominator: 22%
Matthew Golden has shocked me twice during his college career: First, he chose to enroll at Houston over other prestigious programs, and second, he left college after only three years. At 6-0 and 195 pounds, the former Longhorn transferred from Houston to Texas before the 2024 season. Last year, he recorded career-bests across the board with 58 catches for 987 yards and nine scores, averaging an impressive 17.0 ypc. Golden is a very good route runner who defeats defensive backs on short and long routes. He is a physical playmaker with great hands, stupendous body control and awesome agility. I have a second-round grade on Golden, but I will not be surprised if he comes off the board within the first 32 selections of the Draft.
TE Tyler Warren, Penn State
6-6 and 257 pounds
Yards Per Reception: 12.0
Team Aerial Dominator: 34%
The NFL has always been a copy-cat league, and over the past three seasons, elite-level tight ends have been difference-makers on their teams. Travis Kelce and George Kittle have played in the past four Super Bowls, and Sam LaPorta and Brock Bowers immediately impacted their offenses as rookies. Organizations take notice of success, and Penn State tight end Tyler Warren profiles as a premier playmaker at the next level. At 6-6 and 257 pounds, the John Mackey Award winner posted one of the all-time great campaigns in college football history by a tight end. He snatched 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns. Incredibly, he also carried the ball 26 times for 218 yards and four scores. Warren surely gets selected in the first half of the Draft and might slip into the Top Ten picks.
