2026-27 Deep League Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 2

We are entering Week 2 of fantasy basketball, and injuries are already starting to pile up. However, don’t overreact to the first week of the season. Stay patient and focus on maximizing games played across your rosters. There are still plenty of players who can provide value off the waiver wire.

Deep League Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire

Jaxson Hayes, C – Jazz

Hayes may not have filled up the scoring column Wednesday night, but his production across the board is worth paying attention to. He finished with two points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 37 minutes. With Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) expected to miss at least six weeks and Jusuf Nurkic (foot) still not close to returning, Hayes appears to be in a good position to hold down Utah’s starting center role. He’s off to a solid start, averaging 10.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 2.3 blocks per game. The minutes and defensive production make him an intriguing option, especially for managers looking for help in rebounds and blocks. If Hayes is still available in your league, he’s worth adding.

Naji Marshall, F – Mavericks

Marshall has missed two straight games because of illness. Across his first three games, Marshall averaged 13.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 steals in 27 minutes per contest.

For managers in need of assists and steals without sacrificing scoring, Marshall fits the bill. Zaccharie Risacher should continue to benefit from the opportunities available, but Marshall has already shown he can contribute in multiple categories. However, in points leagues, he is very valuable due to his 33% usage rate in these three games as well. Monitor his status and make sure he isn’t sitting on your waiver wire.

Pelle Larsson – G, Heat

Larsson continues to make a case for himself. He finished Wednesday’s matchup against Atlanta with 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting, six rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and two three-pointers. Even more encouraging was his consistency. Larsson has recorded at least 12 points, four assists, one steal, and one three-pointer in three consecutive games. He has also played at least 31 minutes in each of those contests, showing that Miami is trusting him with a meaningful role. Larsson was a great player to add late last season, and so I would add him now to beat your league mates to the punch.

Dennis Schroder – G, Hornets

I’m surprised Schroder isn’t rostered in more fantasy basketball leagues right now. With Coby White still sidelined, Schroder has an opportunity to provide consistent value, especially for managers who need help at guard. Schroder finished Wednesday’s 97-89 loss to Detroit with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, two three-pointers, five assists, and four rebounds in 34 minutes. He was Charlotte’s second-leading scorer and led the team in assists, continuing a stretch in which he has recorded at least five assists in three straight games.

The veteran guard is getting the minutes and opportunities needed to produce, and that should continue as long as White remains out with a calf injury. If you need assists, scoring, and a guard who can contribute right away, Schroder deserves to be picked up.

Jamal Shead – G, Raptors

Shead is one of my favorite young guards to watch, and he’s beginning to show why he deserves more attention in fantasy basketball. Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss the next few weeks, and Shead, along with Jakobi Walter, are going to benefit. Shead finished with 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting, one three-pointer, four made free throws, seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals in 23 minutes vs. the Magic. Shead’s ability to contribute in multiple categories without needing a ton of minutes is why, especially in category leagues, you should give him a long look.

Shead should continue to handle backup point guard duties behind Quickley, making him an intriguing option for managers looking for assists and steals. He’s a player who could become more valuable if his role continues to grow.
