Every game we see gives us even more confidence in what role a player has. While any player can go off on any week, some players just don’t deserve a spot on your roster. Whether it’s because they’re not getting the workload they need or they’re stuck in a crowded group, you should find better options on the waiver wire. These players should leave your fantasy football roster in Week 4.

Week 4 Players You Can Drop
All players are rostered in over 50% of Fantrax leagues
Daniel Jones – QB, Indianapolis Colts
Through three games, Daniel Jones has yet to eclipse 15 fantasy points. Jones has thrown exactly one TD and one interception in every game this year. While the floor is decent, the ceiling isn’t materializing. Part of that is Jones recovering from an Achilles injury late last season. Jones ran 45 times for 164 yards and five TDs last season. This year, Jones has only run seven times for 19 yards. It may take a while for Jones to fully recover and offer fantasy value with his legs. The passing game is just not cutting it, and WR Alec Pierce is out for the foreseeable future. You can cut Jones and take a higher upside option in Week 4.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. – RB, New York Giants
Tracy was on this list last week, but every point I made needs to be reiterated. Last season, the Giants used Tracy like a complementary back as well as a backup for Cam Skattebo. This year, things completely changed. While Cam Skattebo is still the clear starter, Najee Harris got nine carries. Tracy only got a single rush. This wasn’t a new development either. Tracy only has three rush attempts and no targets this year, while Devin Singletary and Najee Harris each have double-digit opportunities. It’s clear that multiple injuries would need to occur to get Tracy closer to fantasy relevancy. Right now, he’s not worth starting in even the deepest of leagues.
Kenneth Gainwell – RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Gainwell was a league winner last year. In his first year with the Steelers, Gainwell ran the ball 114 times and was targeted a whopping 85 times, finishing as the PPR RB16. Through three games this year, Gainwell has run the ball 10 times and caught six passes for just 22 yards. Bucky Irving has dominated the rushing game while also out-targeting Gainwell 15 to 10. Baker Mayfield also dislocated his thumb in Week 3. If he misses any time, things could get much worse. Gainwell does have solid target volume, but the production has been lackluster. Don’t clog your roster with him.
Michael Pittman Jr. – WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers signed Michael Pittman Jr. to a 3-year, $59-million contract, but the usage doesn’t back that. Pittman caught all three of his targets for 58 yards in Week 1 while playing 88% of offensive snaps. He then missed Week 2. This week in a shootout with the Bengals, Aaron Rodgers looked his way five times, but he only caught two passes for 16 yards. In his two games, Pittman only has an 11.76% target share.
The Steelers are spreading the ball around to DK Metcalf, Roman Wilson, Germie Bernard, Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, Jaylen Warren, and Rico Dowdle. It’s going to be hard for Pittman to get consistent targets right now with so many different players playing so many different roles. If passing volume decreases, he’s in even more trouble. Pittman could have a breakout later in the year, but he has not shown enough to earn a spot on your fantasy football team. Cut him in Week 4.
Kayshon Boutte – WR, Houston Texans
For some reason, Kayshon Boutte is still rostered in 65% of Fantrax leagues. The former Patriot has yet to find success in Houston. While Boutte led all Texans WRs in snaps and routes run in Week 3, he was only targeted twice. Even without Nico Collins, Boutte could not separate himself enough. Xavier Hutchinson was the main beneficiary in a game where the Texans were constantly playing from behind.
Boutte has been efficient with his limited workload, catching six of nine targets for 79 yards, but he has not shown a ceiling. Along with the limited target volume, there’s no reason to roster Boutte. Even as a bye week or injury fill-in, Boutte is an uninspiring play.
