2026 Fantasy Football: Players You Can Drop in Week 6

As your fantasy season continues, you should always be evaluating your roster. You may not need to make any big trades, but you should make sure you have a strong bench both for the short term and the long term. These players are all wasting space, offering little to no fantasy value outside of incredibly ideal matchups. Drop these players in Week 6 and search the waiver wire for more value.

Week 6 Players You Can Drop

All players are rostered in over 50% of Fantrax leagues

Justin Herbert – QB, Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert has yet to exceed 16 fantasy points in a game this year. Against a Broncos team without CBs Pat Surtain II and Riley Moss, Herbert still did nothing for fantasy football. Herbert threw for just 121 yards. For the fifth consecutive game, Herbert has just one TD and at least one interception. The Chargers are clearly struggling. Injuries at WR and on the offensive line have certainly had an effect. Until something fundamentally changes, Herbert should not sniff your fantasy football roster. Even Malik Willis is flashing more upside.

Kyler Murray – QB, Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray was on this list last week, but it should be repeated. The Minnesota Vikings have been awful on offense. Even in a great matchup against a terrible Saints defense, Murray only threw for 229 yards and threw a single TD. Murray did flash more rushing upside, gaining 51 yards on the ground. However, that just isn’t going to cut it if this is his ceiling. In more difficult matchups, his struggles should continue. It may be worth trying to sell high rather than immediately drop, but it’s unlikely that your fellow fantasy managers are going to be interested. In 10- or 12-team leagues, Kyler Murray can stay on the bench.

Quentin Johnston – WR, Los Angeles Chargers

While Quentin Johnston did not play this week, he is rostered on far too many fantasy football teams. Johnston is looking more like his old self, only catching 36.8% of targets and already having two drops. Things should improve from an abnormally low catch rate, but it’s unlikely that it will result in massive fantasy value. The Chargers offense has been abysmal. Justin Herbert has been held under 200 passing yards on three occasions this season. The only players that seem to have any fantasy value are Ladd McConkey, when he’s on the field, and Tre Harris. Johnston is a liability on your roster.

Kalif Raymond – WR, Chicago Bears

After a hot start, Kalif Raymond has slowed down. The Bears’ passing game struggled this week against the Packers, but Raymond has seen a decline in targets. Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, and Colston Loveland have drawn a lot of targets, leaving little for Raymond or anyone else. Raymond’s target share has been 6.45% and 10% over the last two weeks. While Raymond could still have a role, it’s clear that it is diminishing. You can find better depth with more targets on the waiver wire.

Chris Godwin – WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Chris Godwin continues to be a floor play at best. Even in a game where Jalon Daniels and the Buccaneers scored 24 on a league-worst Cowboys defense, Godwin could not do much. The Buccaneers have relied on the run with Daniels under center, but things were not great when Baker Mayfield was healthy. Godwin has just 21 targets and 179 receiving yards this season. In the short term, the passing game is going to take a hit with Jalon Daniels. Even when Baker Mayfield returns, the offense is unlikely to get much going. You can drop the 30-year-old Godwin and find a better bench player.

Dalton Schultz – TE, Houston Texans

Rostered in 86% of Fantrax leagues, Dalton Schultz might be the easiest drop candidate at the position. Schultz scored 26 points in Week 2. That was against the Bengals, who allow the eighth most fantasy points to TEs. In his four other games, Schultz has combined for 22.4 fantasy points with a peak of 7.5 fantasy points. The Texans have been in their fair share of shootouts this year, but Schultz was never targeted much in them. Schultz does not face another truly great TE matchup until he plays the Colts in Week 11. Do you really want him wasting precious roster space until then? Cut bait and find more upside at the position.
