2026 Fantasy Football: Week 2 Quarterback Rankings

Welcome to the Week 2 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings!

Week 1 brought a flurry of surprises. Plenty of high-flying studs, along with a few staggering duds. Look, I’ll be the first to admit it: I had Justin Herbert locked in as a top-five quarterback last week. Everything lined up for a massive launch pad: offensive playcaller Mike McDaniel taking over, Herbert’s elite arm talent, Quentin Johnston entering a breakout window, and second-year back Omarion Hampton fully healthy and establishing the ground game at home against a vulnerable Cardinals defense. It was set up to be a total smash spot, but boy, was I wrong.

However, I refuse to let one week dictate my entire process. As we know all too well, Week 1 is a notorious liar.

With so many starters sitting out the preseason, Week 1 essentially serves as an extended tune-up for teams to get up to speed. That rust rarely yields fantasy fireworks right out of the gate. While coaches protected their star players’ health, it came at the cost of operational sharpness.

These are not overreaction Week 2 rankings. I am not going to needlessly punish stars like Jayden Daniels or Dak Prescott simply because they laid an egg relative to their lofty expectations. Even if they posted modest fantasy numbers in prime matchups, these offenses will clean up their playcalling, iron out the communication, and put their signal-callers in better positions to succeed now that they have real game tape to work from.

Don’t panic, trust the talent, and let’s lock in those lineups. Here are my Week 2 Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings!

Tier 1: League of His Own

1. Josh Allen (vs. DET)

  • Josh Allen (QB1): Lesson learned: Allen is completely matchup-proof. He had struggled against Houston’s defense in the past, but there was no struggle this time around as he finished as the QB2 overall, second only to Caleb Williams’ explosive performance. The Wyoming product dropped 35.7 fantasy points against one of the league’s top defenses, so I will never doubt him again, hence why he sits in a tier of his own. Start him with absolute confidence, especially under the lights this Thursday night against the Lions.

Tier 2: Elite QB1s

2. Lamar Jackson (vs. NO) | 3. Jalen Hurts (@ TEN) | 4. Caleb Williams (vs. MIN)

  • Jalen Hurts (QB3): I was higher than consensus on Hurts last week, and he delivered with a solid QB8 finish, racking up 24.7 fantasy points behind three passing touchdowns and 46 rushing yards. I predict he finds the end zone on the ground this week, which is why he sits comfortably in my top three.

  • Caleb Williams (QB4): Caleb Williams is looking like an absolute monster. Not only did he throw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, but he also racked up 65 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground, proving he can dominate in every facet of the game. Ranking him at QB4 might even feel too low, but I want to see how he handles a tough division rival this week.

Tier 3: High-End QB1 Bounce Backs

5. Brock Purdy (vs. MIA) | 6. Dak Prescott (vs. WAS) | 7. Jayden Daniels (@ DAL)

  • Brock Purdy (QB5): Guess who was highest on Purdy in Week 1 and called the big performance? Hint: You’re reading his article! Purdy was my QB7 overall heading into the season, and he showed us why down under in Australia against an elite defense on paper. He gets a smash matchup at home against the Dolphins this week. The only reason he isn’t ranked higher is that this game could get out of hand early, limiting his output in the second half.

  • Dak Prescott (QB6) & Jayden Daniels (QB7): Both underwhelmed in Week 1, but now they square off against each other in Dallas. With both defenses looking extremely suspect, expect a high-scoring divisional shootout where both quarterbacks finish as top-eight options.

Tier 4: Solid QB1s with High Upside

8. Justin Herbert (vs. LV) | 9. Trevor Lawrence (@ DEN) | 10. Jaxson Dart (@ LAR) | 11. Joe Burrow (@ HOU) | 12. Drake Maye (vs. PIT)

  • Justin Herbert (QB8): I will not overreact to Week 1, when Herbert struggled in a matchup that looked incredible on paper. Charger starters didn’t play in the preseason, so the rust should be officially shaken off. Expect offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel to get this unit back on track, leading the offense to 25-plus points and providing Herbert with a safe floor and high ceiling.

Tier 5: QB2s with QB1 Ceiling

13. Patrick Mahomes II (vs. IND) | 14. Matthew Stafford (vs. NYG) | 15. Jared Goff (@ BUF) | 16. Malik Willis (@ SF) | 17. Jordan Love (@ NYJ) | 18. Bryce Young (@ ATL) | 19. Tyler Shough (@ BAL) | 20. Baker Mayfield (vs. CLE) | 21. Bo Nix (vs. JAX)

  • Patrick Mahomes II (QB13): I certainly didn’t expect Mahomes to rush seven times and punch in a rushing touchdown coming off an ACL recovery, but here we are! He showed zero hesitation out there, so expect another strong performance at home against the Colts.

  • Matthew Stafford (QB14): Stafford is in a prime bounce-back spot at home against the Giants on Monday Night Football. Fire him up in your lineups without hesitation.

  • Jordan Love (QB17): I’m slightly lower than consensus on Jordan Love this week. Traveling to New York for a tough road matchup combined with zero rushing production last week caps his overall ceiling.

  • Bryce Young (QB18) & Tyler Shough (QB19): Both young QBs had impressive games in losing efforts last week, flashing great mobility. They have matchups that allow them to mirror their Week 1 production and provide a reliable floor as mid-range QB2s.

Tier 6: Floor QB2 Options

22. Carson Wentz (@ CHI) | 23. C.J. Stroud (vs. CIN) | 24. Jacoby Brissett (vs. SEA) | 25. Daniel Jones (@ KC) | 26. Geno Smith (vs. GB) | 27. Aaron Rodgers (@ NE)

  • Carson Wentz (QB22): Kyler Murray hasn’t been officially ruled out yet, but we’ll play it safe and assume he sits. Wentz delivered three touchdowns in relief last week, so expect him to return low-end QB2 value in a script where he’ll likely be playing catch-up against Caleb Williams and the Bears.

Tier 7: Deep Superflex & Desperation Plays

28. Drew Lock (@ ARI) | 29. Deshaun Watson (@ TB) | 30. Kirk Cousins (@ LAC) | 31. Cooper Rush (vs. CAR) | 32. Cam Ward (vs. PHI)

Final Thoughts: Don’t Dig an Early Hole

If you made it all the way to the bottom of this article, it means one thing: you are dead serious about securing a crucial Week 2 victory.

Did you take a tough loss in Week 1? Don’t panic! It certainly doesn’t define your entire season, but playing catch-up early is a hole you want to avoid. We’ve all been there down the stretch in Weeks 13 and 14, sweating out tiebreakers, calculating points-against, and relying on pure luck while praying for someone else in the league to lose. Every single matchup counts. Whether you’re trying to bounce back or build a 2-0 win streak, why leave your season to chance later when you can establish dominance right now?

Don’t start the year playing behind. Trust the process, make the tough lineup calls, and let these rankings steer your squad in the right direction.

Thanks for reading, good luck this week, and God bless. Let’s go dominate Week 2!
