2026 Fantasy Football: Week 2 D/ST Streamers

Week 1 was full of scoring, which hurt most of the widely available D/STs. Despite that, almost all of my streaming recommendations performed well. Let’s keep things going with my Week 2 D/ST streamers, along with some teams to stash.

Week 2 D/ST Streamers

All D/STs are rostered in under 50% of Fantrax leagues

Last week’s stashes: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers

Green Bay Packers (at New York Jets)

Fantrax Rostership: 50% (Other Platforms: 15% – 16%)

Games like this expose what was noise and what was real in Week 1. The New York Jets are hot, coming off an easy win against the Tennessee Titans. They now get their home opener against a Green Bay Packers team that let Carson Wentz expose them. The Packers were up 23-10 against the Vikings with just over five minutes left in the third quarter last week, before they allowed four unanswered TDs. Is that likely to happen against Geno Smith and the Jets? I doubt it.

New York ganged up on a Titans defense that ranked 29th in DVOA last season, and Geno Smith wasn’t asked to do a lot. While the Titans committed a lot of money to shoring up their defense, there’s only so much that a single free agency period can do. Breece Hall tore through the Titans defensive line, but the Packers mostly kept the Vikings running game in check. They also had four turnovers, if you include turnovers on downs, in their final four possessions. Maybe the Jets are solid, and the Packers are bad. I’m willing to bet that the Packers are good enough to stream in Week 2.

San Francisco 49ers (vs Miami Dolphins)

Fantrax Rostership: 32% (Other Platforms: 7% – 14%)

Even against the lowly Raiders, the Dolphins could only muster 13 points. Malik Willis was paid big bucks, but there isn’t much around him to work with. Willis was sacked 5 times and threw an interception last week. The 49ers are coming off of extra rest after putting the Rams down in Australia. The Dolphins may improve as the season progresses and their rookie receivers develop, but that still may not be enough. Target the Dolphins every week and stream the 49ers D/ST in Week 2.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs Cleveland Browns)

Fantrax Rostership: 25% (Other Platforms: 7% – 13%)

Much like the Dolphins, the Browns are an ideal matchup nearly every week. While the surrounding cast around Deshaun Watson is significantly better, he has been on a freefall since 2020. The Browns could only muster 10 points against the Jaguars. Watson threw an interception and was sacked 5 times.

Tampa Bay didn’t play incredible defense last week against Cincinnati, but a lot can be blamed on offensive turnovers that led to defensive points. Baker Mayfield had a fumble returned for a TD, Bucky Irving lost a fumble in his own territory, and Baker Mayfield lost another fumble in Buccaneers territory. Cleveland may look better than last week, but overall Tampa Bay should bounce back. You can stream most D/STs against the Browns.

Carolina Panthers (at Atlanta Falcons)

Fantrax Rostership: 10% (Other Platforms: 1% – 2%)

This is a risky play, but a good matchup for a defense that’s so widely available. The Carolina Panthers just allowed 59 points to the Chicago Bears, but I won’t give up on them just yet. While the Panthers don’t boast an elite defense, they can take advantage here.

Cooper Rush was awful against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1, throwing for 143 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs. Rush was also sacked four times. Bijan Robinson was a bright spot on an otherwise unremarkable offense. Cooper Rush may get the start again over Tua Tagovailoa. If that’s the case, the Panthers become an interesting stream if you’re limited on options. The Bears ran for nearly 300 yards on them, but Carolina is not facing a top-notch passing attack this time. Rush has the weapons, but not the ability. Stream the Panthers D/ST in Week 2 if you’re in a pinch.

Arizona Cardinals (vs Seattle Seahawks)

Fantrax Rostership: 5% (Other Platforms: 0%)

This is a bottom-of-the-barrel play. The Arizona Cardinals are not a stream just because they performed well against the Chargers. Drew Lock will be in at QB for the foreseeable future as Sam Darnold nurses a glute injury. Lock was solid in relief of Darnold in Week 1, and the Seahawks get plenty of rest, but there’s a chance that this opens the door for mild fantasy value.

The Cardinals are unlikely to repeat their performance against the Chargers, but they aren’t the worst defense in the league. Last year, Arizona ranked 21st in defensive DVOA and 26th in EPA/play. They forced 19 turnovers – just below league average -though their sack numbers were abysmal. Nobody is going to sell the Cardinals as a great defense, but they are in a solid situation where they can surprise us. Drew Lock will be making his first start since 2024 with the New York Giants. He will have a better surrounding cast and may not be asked to do much, but it’s unlikely that he lights the world on fire. If you’re in a very deep league and desperate, this is a gamble with some logic behind it.

D/STs to Stash

San Francisco 49ers (vs Arizona Cardinals)

While the 49ers are a streamer this week, they are also worth holding onto. San Francisco hosts Arizona next week and could have a solid game. Jacoby Brissett has one of the lowest interception percentages in league history, but he throws the ball a lot. Just by sheer volume, he is open to getting sacked and throwing picks. The Cardinals offense has some big-name players, but Brissett is still a bridge QB who you can target when streaming D/STs.

Green Bay Packers (vs Atlanta Falcons)

Like the 49ers, the Packers are both a good play this week and a good stash for next week. While Cooper Rush would be nice to see, Tua Tagovailoa may be back this time next week. The skill positions are good, if not great, but ultimately the Packers should be able to handle whomever they face. Let me reiterate that the Vikings scored four unanswered TDs while the Packers turned the ball over four consecutive times to end the game. It’s hard to imagine that happening again. Things should turn around.

New York Giants (vs Tennessee Titans)

While Cam Ward’s surrounding cast improved, his play did not. Ward has not been particularly great at scoring TDs, gaining yardage, or carrying an NFL offense. That may sound harsh, but it’s what you want to hear when streaming D/STs in fantasy football. After the Jets shut them down with ease, there may not be a single defense that you shouldn’t stream against the Titans unless there’s a drastic change.
