NFL Week 5 Prop Plays – FanDuel Sportsbook

Will Shipley Over 35.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Talk about the last man standing. Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby are both injured, which means Shipley has the Eagles’ backfield to himself. Yes, Jalen Hurts will play a large role, especially at the goal line, but Shipley will dominate the workload the majority of the time.

The matchup against the Jaguars isn’t ideal as they are the third-best defense against opposing running backs. Through the first four weeks of the season, Jacksonville is allowing just 74.3 rushing yards per game. If you are looking to target a running back, all signs here point to looking elsewhere.

Shipley hasn’t found consistent success this season, but he does have games of seven carries for 24 yards and six carries for 23 yards. That’s not coming to jump off the page, and it falls in line with what the Jaguars have been doing this season. However, at his player prop, Shipley needs just 12 carries at three yards per carry to hit his player prop.

Carnell Tate Over 50-plus Receiving Yards (+108)

Let’s follow the breakout performance while also taking advantage of plus money. Drafted fourth overall, seeing Tate have success shouldn’t be a surprise. However, Cam Ward hasn’t looked great to begin the season, and the Titans have yet to be victorious. This week, they are facing the also winless Houston Texans, so you would think someone has to emerge with a victory.

In Week 4, Tate had the best game of his short career with nine catches for 145 yards. That came a week after the rookie caught six passes for 58 yards. So far this season, the Texans are allowing 278 passing yards per game. As Tate continues to emerge, and it makes sense that the Titans would look to target their exciting rookie, there’s no reason why he can’t carve 50 of those yards out for himself.

Malik Nabers Over 5.5 Receptions (+120)

Following Week 4, Nabers wasn’t exactly quiet about wanting to take on a larger role in the Giants offense. It’s natural and it’s also warranted. He’s still not at 100% as he works his way back from major knee surgery, but Nabers is getting better and more comfortable by the week.

During the week, the Giants are, rightfully so, taking things slowly and cautiously with Nabers. He didn’t practice on Wednesday, but he did return on a limited basis on Thursday. I’d expect things to progress towards him taking the field once again in Week 5, and I’m looking for him to be involved.

Weather could be a real factor, and we can’t discount that. Nabers caught six passes in Week 1, five in Week 3, and six again last week. That puts him right on the border of this week’s player prop. As the Giants work through the weather, it wouldn’t surprise me to see them shorten the field. That shouldn’t reduce Nabers’ target share, but instead his yardage. Even if it’s for 40 yards, the expectation is that Nabers will be more involved and get to six touchdowns.
