If you’re reading this, you’re probably fighting for a championship. Congrats! It also means that by now, you know the drill. Picking a defense matters. So let’s get into it. Having to plug kickers and defenses into your fantasy lineups is one of the worst parts of fantasy football. Especially when you get beat because of it. But you get what you get, and you don’t get upset. So, let’s take a look at three potential defenses that could score you some points. There’s no reason you can’t be the one who wins their matchup because of their defense, right? Let’s see if my Week 17 D/ST streamers can help you do just that.

Week 17 DST Streamers
Week 17 Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | Kicker | D/ST | PPR | Flex
New England Patriots Defense
This Patriots defense has been solid relatively all year (with last week against Buffalo being an outlier). They’re up against a poor Jaguars team who just lost their most explosive player (James Robinson) with a torn Achilles. We’ve got the Patriots/Bill Belichek going up against a rookie QB, with a subpar running, in a game script that will force that rookie QB to throw. That’s a recipe for disaster for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots have a chance to be the highest-scoring defense in Week 17. This is a must-pick-up, even if you already think you have your defense for the week.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defense
You might be sensing a theme here….find one of the highest-scoring defenses in the league, see if they’re playing a rookie quarterback, and add them to your roster. This will be the case for the Bucs this week as they take on the NYJ in Week 17. Zach Wilson showed some flashes last week with a long TD run, but if there’s one thing the Bucs defense takes pride in, it’s not allowing their opponent to run on them (top-five rushing defense). Forcing Zach Wilson to throw is going to put the Bucs in position to get interceptions and sacks, which is how you score points. This is a layup if the Bucs are still on your waiver wire.
Pittsburgh Steelers Defense
This isn’t my favorite pick of the bunch, but it has to be said. The Steelers will take on the Browns in Week 17, and I have to say, the Browns offense looks a mess right now. Baker Mayfield is coming off of his first career four-interception game, and if I had to guess, I’d say that he was feeling the pressure of playing for a second contract (without having a number one receiver he has chemistry with). Further, he’s been hurt all year, which makes him even tougher to evaluate. The Steelers aren’t an easy team to run on, which has the potential to take Chubb out of the gameplan and force Baker to throw. That’s what we want. Baker has a tendency to hold onto the ball too long since he can also make plays with his feet, so the sack potential is there also. The Browns can be dangerous, but they could be a nice matchup this week.
