Week 17 DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel

Week 17 is here, and if you want to end the year with some extra money in your pocket, you’re going to want to see my DFS picks of the week. If your fantasy team was eliminated, make sure you play DFS this week to make your money back.

Just as a reminder, DraftKings has a salary base of $50,000, and FanDuel has a base of $60,000.

What!? Your league isn’t hosted on Fantrax!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.

Week 17 DFS Picks:

Quarterbacks

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (DK $6,700 FD $7,400)

Dak Prescott does have a tough matchup this week against the Cardinals. But, after last week Prescott is finally out of his slump. He threw the ball 39 times last week, including four touchdowns. The run game has not been there for the Cowboys, so it is up to Prescott to win these games. The Cardinals are a team the Cowboys could face in the playoffs, so expect Prescott to be on his game this week.

Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (DK $7,600 FD $8,300)

Tom Brady is guaranteed to have a 25 plus fantasy game this week against the Jets. Brady has had his way with the Jets in the past, and it is going to continue this week. Normally I wouldn’t put Brady or Aaron Rodgers on this list as they are sure things. But, at his price this week in DraftKings, it is too hard to pass up on.

Other Value Pick: Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (DK $6,600 FD $7,900)

Running Backs

Rashaad Penny, Seattle Seahawks (DK $6,100 FD $6,900)

Rashaad Penny has been great as of late and has a great matchup against the Lions this week. Russell Wilson hasn’t been the fantasy stud this season, so it has been up to the running backs this season. The Lions are giving up 22 fantasy points a game to running backs this season, which is the sixth-worst in the league. Also, in the last four weeks, Penny has had two games where he went over 135 yards on the ground. One game against the Texans and Bears, both of which are terrible defenses against the run this season.

David Montgomery, Chicago Bears (DK $6,500 FD $7,200)

David Montgomery finally got back into his groove last week, scoring a touchdown while also snagging seven receptions. This week he has the Giants who are the seventh-worst fantasy defense against running backs. Montgomery is the clear number one running back and is sure to get all the red zone targets this week.

Other Value Pick: Jeff Wilson Jr., San Francisco 49ers (DK $5,600 FD $6,700)

Wide Receivers

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals (DK $6,900 FD $7,000)

Tee Higgins had the game of his life last week, and his salary shows for it this week. However, I still trust him this week against the Chiefs. The Bengals are fighting to win the division as are the Chiefs. This will be a high-scoring game with a ton of passing. Joe Burrow is looking elite as of late and loves to target Higgins. Higgins is averaging just over eight targets a game this season.

Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts (DK $5,800 FD $6,500)

Michael Pittman Jr. was the talk of the league mid-season but has fallen into a bit of a slump as of late. But, this is the week he goes off. He is playing the Raiders who have been great against wide receivers in terms of fantasy points allowed. But, half the Raiders secondary is out with injuries or COVID-19 this week. One big piece the Raiders will be missing this week is Casey Hayward Jr., who most likely would be on Pittman. Look for Pittman to shine this week.

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins (DK $6,700 FD $7,000)

Jaylen Waddle is making a case for the best rookie wide receiver this year and his numbers do show. This week he has a great matchup against the Titans who are giving up 25 fantasy points a game to wide receivers. Waddle is averaging nine targets a game, which leads the team. He is by far the most consistent fantasy player on the Dolphins and has a great opportunity to keep his hot streak alive this week. Don’t sleep on Waddle.

Other Value Pick: Van Jefferson Jr., Los Angeles Rams (DK $5,300 FD $6,000)

Tight End

Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders (DK $3,800 FD $5,200)

Lots of positional players were highly expensive this week, due to players being out with COVID-19 and injuries. This week Darren Waller is in COVID-19 protocols but has also been banged up so it is unlikely he suits up this week. In his absence, Foster Moreau has been great for the Raiders and has scored in the double digits the last two weeks. He has a great salary this week and has a great matchup against the Colts. The Colts are giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends this year.

Other Value Pick: Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (DK $4,200 FD $5,700)

Defense

New England Patriots (DK $3,900 FD $5,000)

The Patriots are hanging on to a wild card seed, and need every week from here on out. This week they have the Jaguars who are in the running for the first or second pick in the draft. This is an easy start as the Patriots will steamroll over the Jaguars this week. This win could seal a playoff spot for the Patriots and they won’t let it slip away to the Jaguars.
