Welcome to Week 7 of the fantasy basketball season! Hopefully, everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend combined with Turkey, stuffing, and some fantasy basketball wins! Now, back to the waiver wire to improve our teams… Injuries continue to pave their way and alternate lineup decisions. Here are a few players who are set to pay big dividends and be a contributing part of your Fantasy Championship aspirations.
Week 7 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire
Lonnie Walker IV, SG/SF – Los Angeles Lakers (51% rostered)
We all know LeBron James and Anthony Davis steal the headline in LaLa land, but Lonnie Walker IV needs more attention because the man is on fire! Do Batman and Robin have a sidekick? Commissioner James Gordon perhaps? That’s Lonnie Walker right now contributing night in and night out in Los Angeles. Walker has scored double-digit points in seven straight games and is averaging 20.3 points over his last three including 2.3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 3 3PTM. That sounds like a supporting role nominee if you ask me. Scoop him up, everyone!
Marvin Bagley III, PF/C – Detroit Pistons (48% rostered)
Anytime there’s a 2nd overall pick in discussion there’s going to be some hype and overreaction to a good week. This is not an overreaction though and you need to add Marvin Bagley III asap! Bagley is on an absolute tear with back-to-back double-doubles and has scored double-digit points in six straight games. The 23-year-old is now averaging 17 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals while shooting 62% from the field over his last three games. The Pistons are in last place in the NBA. They’re going to see what they have in MB III and continue to give him tons of minutes. Rev it up ladies and gentlemen, Bagley is here to stay and a strong addition to your fantasy lineups.
Deni Avdija, SF/PF – Washington Wizards (37% rostered)
The talented third-year pro from Serbia is starting to make some noise for the Washington Wizards. Deni Avdija is racking up the categories snagging at least 9 rebounds in three of his last four games including a 12-point, 9-rebound, and 10-assist game. Not to mention one steal and two blocks! Oh, baby now that’s a stat line if you ask me. Avdija has scored at least 12 points and a combination of 5 assists or rebounds in six of his last nine games. The 21-year-old has also posted a steal in three straight games while averaging 1.3 blocks. Pick him up folks!
Caleb Martin, SF/PF – Miami Heat (36% rostered)
Caleb Martin is turning on the heat in Miami baby! Jimmy Butler is set to return soon from a knee injury, but Martin was still scoring with Butler in the lineup. The 4th-year pro out of Nevada has now scored at least 20 points in three straight games and has scored double-digit points in seven of his last eight games. Sign me up! During that span, Martin is averaging a stellar 17.4 points while averaging 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals over his last four games. The icing on the cake is Martin had a ‘flu game’ and still came through with 20 points. I’m sold.
