Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 20

Welcome to week 20 of the fantasy basketball season! Time certainly flies! With just five weeks left in the NBA season the fantasy basketball schedule is winding down! For most leagues, this is the last week of the fantasy regular season before playoffs begin! Congratulations if you already secured a playoff berth. If that’s the case, it’s time to look ahead and see who has extra games two weeks down the road! If you’re on the playoff bubble, it’s do or die time baby! Here are five players you need to add during these intense times. Good luck to everyone in the playoff picture!

Week 20 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire

Dennis Schroder, PG – Los Angeles Lakers (43% rostered)

It’s the Dennis Schroder show in Los Angeles! LeBron James is out for at least three weeks due to a tendon injury in his right foot, so this is a lengthy absence for the All-Star. Schroder was featured on here back in the holiday seasons dishing out assists and posting a few monster stat lines with Anthony Davis out of the lineup. Now without James, it’s Schroder’s time to step into a lead role in LALA land once again. Schroder has posted double-digit points in nine of his past 11 games and is averaging 17.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, 10 assists, and 1.3 steals in three of his past five games. Sign me up for 17/10 all day of the week! Schroder has at least six assists in six straight games and has three games over 25 points over his last ten. Absolute must-add player.

*Malik Beasley, SG/SF – Los Angeles Lakers – Worth an add for Points, 3PTM.

Tari Eason, SF/PF – Houston Rockets (39% rostered)

When your last place in the NBA it’s time to give the rookies extra minutes so enter Tari Eason. Eason, the 17th overall pick in this year’s draft class has shown some great upside when given the minutes but unfortunately that’s been few and far between to trust on a fantasy basketball basis. Now it’s the 21-year-old’s time to shine! Eason is averaging 15.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks over his past five games with two double-doubles! Not too shabby baby! Eason is averaging just under 20 minutes per game on the season but has skyrocketed up to 29 MPG over his last three. Eason has posted at least 15 points and five rebounds in four of his past five games. Houston… Tari Eason is cleared for take-off! I’m adding away.

Delon Wright, PG/SG – Washington Wizards (40% rostered)

If you’re in need of assists then Delon Wright is your guy! Assists can be hard to come by on the fantasy basketball waiver wire so don’t miss out on this opportunity. Wright is starting for the Wizards at the moment with Monte Morris out with a lower back injury and reaping the rewards! Wright has dished out 5+ assists in six of his past 11 games including an 11-assist game Thursday vs the Raptors. That’s not all he’s doing either. In four of his past six games, he’s averaging 14.3 points and 4.8 rebounds. Wright is also averaging 6.6 assists and 3.2 steals in five of his past seven games. That’s some solid production across the board and definitely worthy of an add.

Naz Reid, C – Minnesota Timberwolves (21% rostered)

Naz Reid is fresh off a top-30 performance on the week and as long as Karl-Anthony Towns is out of the lineup, Reid needs to be rostered. Reid has posted at least eight rebounds in four of his past five games and is averaging 18.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks during that span. Yes, please for that stat-line folks! Reid posted a dominant 30-point, nine-rebound line with Rudy Gobert out of the lineup last week so there’s league-winning potential with Reid if Gobert misses time. In Reid’s last two games with Gobert back, he’s still been productive, averaging 13.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals which still makes him a great addition.

Jeremy Sochan, PF – San Antonio Spurs (43% rostered)

Jeremy Sochan is another player mentioned on the waiver wire a while back, but he offers too much upside to ignore and not mention again. Sochan was battling the injury bug missing six of his past 12 games due to a back injury so there’s a good chance he is still available after missing Sunday night’s action. The rookie was amazing Thursday night dropping 22 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals after another 22-point, six-rebound performance earlier in the week. In three of his past four games, he’s averaging 19 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. In his first game back from injury he also posted 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block! This is absolute gold on the waiver wire so don’t pass up on this opportunity to get a game-changing player for the fantasy playoffs!
