Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards to Consider for Week 22
Mikael Granlund, San Jose Sharks
The San Jose Sharks haven’t been winning, but they have been scoring goals. This is led by Mikael Granlund as he’s been hot lately, especially on the power play. In the Sharks’ previous six games, Granlund has points in four of them, but he has recorded two goals and eight points. Astonishingly, seven of those points have come on the power play as well. This isn’t likely going to continue at this ridiculous rate, but it shows that the man advantage is converting a ton.
Granlund plays on the top line and has great chemistry with Fabian Zetterlund. This duo just keeps scoring and they will have four opportunities to do so this week when the Sharks face the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Chicago Blackhawks. This is a really good opportunity for Granlund to produce a lot more points in fantasy for your team.
Wyatt Johnston, Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars look very dangerous, and they are getting contributions from throughout their lineup. One of the big contributors that typically hangs out on the waiver wire is Wyatt Johnston. This young center can shoot the puck and does so a lot, recording 28 shots in his previous six games and scoring four goals in his past three games.
Johnston plays with Jamie Benn and Logan Stankoven and that line has been very good since being put together. It has no reason to stop producing the way that they are, and even though the Stars don’t have the easiest three games this week, no opponent has been able to slow them down. The Stars will match up against the Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils, and Los Angeles Kings. Circle the Devils here especially since goaltending has been a major weak spot all season.
Anthony Duclair, Tampa Bay Lightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning are once again a very good team at scoring goals. They only got better at the deadline by picking up Anthony Duclair as well. This gave them a top-six winger and that’s exactly where he is playing. Alongside Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli, Duclair had a great first impression, scoring a goal and an assist in his first game.
Duclair is going to keep getting power play time as well. He already added a point on the man advantage in his first game and went from arguably the worst team in the league to a strong contender fighting for a playoff spot. The Lightning will be locked into making the postseason and Duclair will really add to his 17 goals and 29 points in 57 games to this point.

Players that may seem like great waiver wire pickups could fade quickly, while others could turn out to be great for a long time.
