Congratulations to those who’ve won their matchup in the opening round of the playoffs! Congratulations to those who had a Bye! It is Semi-Finals time now. I have six G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire names for you this week. You can plug these names into your lineups with confidence in Week 13. These G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire names are available in 70%+ of Fantrax leagues.
G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire
Quarterbacks
Hunter Watson – Sam Houston
Fantrax Rostership: 8%
Total Fantasy Points: 204.1
Fantasy Points Per Game: 22.7
Sam Houston has Jacksonville State in Week 13. Jacksonville State’s defense has allowed 242 yards passing, two touchdowns, and forced half an interception over their last four games. When Liberty played this Jacksonville State team their quarterback, Kaidon Salter, had 68 yards on the ground. Hunter Watson is a weapon with his legs. He has averaged 50 yards rushing over his last five games. He also has four rushing touchdowns over that five-game stretch. Hunter Watson is averaging 154 yards passing and has four passing touchdowns in those five weeks. He is averaging 22.36 fantasy points over that five week span. That number is being pulled down by a 8.9 performance against Louisiana Tech. I believe Hunter Watson is a viable G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire name in Week 13.

Colton Joseph – Old Dominion (ODU)
Fantrax Rostership: 28%
Total Fantasy Points: 232.7
Fantasy Points Per Game: 29.1
If you are in need of a hail mary, Colton Joseph may be your answer. Over ODU’s last five games, Joseph has averaged 17 completions on 27 pass attempts for 219 yards and one touchdown. Over that same five-game span, he has averaged 13 rush attempts for 71 yards and one touchdown. Those stats have been good for 34.86 fantasy points. ODU will host Marshall. Over Marshall’s last three games, their defense is allowing, on average, 11 completions on 23 pass attempts and one touchdown. Those quarterbacks have only been able to average eight rushing attempts for negative nine yards. Expect to see a heavy dose of Colton Joseph in the rushing attack on Saturday (as he runs from DE Mike Green). If your team is down big heading into the weekend, Colton Joseph could be that G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire name that keeps you in the game.
Running Backs
Ahmani Marshall – Appalachian State
Fantrax Rostership: 6%
Total Fantasy Points: 93.5
Fantasy Points Per Game: 10.4
Ahmani Marshall has averaged 23 carries for 119 yards rushing and one touchdown over his last three contests. Appalachian State’s leading wide receiver, Kaedin Robinson, suffered a season-ending injury in Week 12. Robinson led the team with 840 yards receiving. Next most is Makai Jackson with 426 yards receiving. Appalachian State needs to win their next two games to become bowl-eligible. I believe we see Appalachian State move to a more run-focused approach in their Week 13 matchup with James Madison. James Madison’s defense is allowing 120 yards and one touchdown per game over their last three contests. One of those games is a 46-yard and zero-touchdown performance from Georgia State. Given injuries to Appalachian State and Ahmani Marshall’s recent success, Marshall is a great G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire plug-and-play this week.

Dylan Carson – Air Force
Fantrax Rostership: 22%
Total Fantasy Points: 49
Fantasy Points Per Game: 6.1
Dylan Carson suffered an injury in Week 1, but he looks to be back and ready to roll you into your Championship week! Over the last two weeks, he has fantasy outputs of 15.7 and 18 fantasy points. He has seen 59 carries over that two-week span. He has been able to turn those 59 carries into 217 yards and two touchdowns. For Air Force, Dylan Carson’s return has equated to two straight wins! What does Week 13 have in store for the Falcons? Nevada. Nevada’s defense has allowed 228 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, on average, over their last three games. On the season, Nevada’s rush defense has allowed 25 rushing touchdowns over eleven games. Their defense has allowed two rushing touchdowns in nine of eleven games. Dylan Carson is a MUST ADD this week and a top G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire name to know.
Wide Receivers
Winston Wright Jr. – East Carolina (ECU)
Fantrax Rostership: 18%
Total Fantasy Points: 145.1
Fantasy Points Per Game: 14.5
Winston Wright Jr. has been on a heater. Over his last three games, he has averaged five receptions on five targets for 51 yards receiving and one touchdown. He is also averaging one rush attempt for 15 yards per game over that same span. Those stats have equated to 19.2 fantasy points per game. The Pirates have North Texas in Week 13. North Texas has allowed 291 yards passing and two touchdowns via the air over their last three games (who are not service academy teams). Chase Sowell exited the Pirates game in Week 12 with a hamstring injury. I love Wright’s floor, but if Sowell misses in Week 13…your opponent will be walking the plank due to this G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire name.

Justin Lockhart – San Jose State (SJSU)
Fantrax Rostership: 29%
Total Fantasy Points: 164.5
Fantasy Points Per Game: 16.4
Justin Lockhart was a name I highlighted last week. What did he do? He only put up his best fantasy output of the year, 33.2 points! Lockhart is the safe floor option out there on the waiver wire. Lockhart has over 100 yards receiving in three of his last four games. The game he was short of 100 yards was a game in which he had 93 yards receiving. With Eget under center, Lockhart has averaged five receptions on ten targets for 120 yards receiving and 0.2 touchdowns. Justin Lockhart is a safe G5 Semi-Final Waiver Wire floor play in Week 13.
