Dynasty Fantasy Football: The Ultimate Stash List

The thought of many Fantasy Football managers is that your starting lineup is what wins you leagues. While there is some truth to that, we have to understand the number of Fantasy Football surprises that we have every year that end up being major difference makers in our leagues. Those surprises, a lot of times, are guys that come from the waiver wire or players we have sitting on the edge of our benches. So while we can sit and discuss the big names to target for Fantasy Football, it could be more beneficial for you to hear some sneaky names to get on your rosters.

As a guy who has had a stache since the sixth grade, we are talking about a different “stash” for this article. I define a stash as a few things here:

  • Players you may be able to pick up off of your waiver wire (all league depths are different)
  • Players who you can include as add-ons to bigger trades, where they are not the focus of the trade
  • Players who you may have rostered already, that you should hold

In all of the above scenarios, these are currently low-risk and sometimes low-valued players that can pay off later down the road. For Dynasty Fantasy Football leagues, identifying these players now can pay off for holding heavier roster value later. We look for little edges in our leagues, especially in Dynasty, so hopefully, you walk away with some new insight here that gives you just that.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this past season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Dynasty Fantasy Football: The Ultimate Stash List

**No specific order for the lists under the positions, PPG = points per game, and PPR = points per reception scoring**

Quarterbacks:

  • Daniel Jones (Colts):
    • True opportunity to compete with Anthony Richardson for the Colts starting job as a former starter and former first-round talent. 18.4 Fantasy PPG back in 2022, where he rushed for 70p8 yards. An upside-down handcuff, even if he starts the season as the backup.
  • Deshaun Watson (Browns):
    • A setback to his major injury makes Watson’s future questionable. This is still a guy who averaged 21+ Fantasy PPG 2018-2020 as a dual-threat quarterback. Being 29 years old gives him a window to still compete.
  • Jalen Milroe (Seahawks):
    • Third-round rookie for the Seahawks to back up newcomer Sam Sarnold. Milroe is very Jalen Hurts-like in that he is an explosive runner who will develop as a passer. High upside handcuff quarterback.
  • Will Howard (Steelers):
    • Sixth-round selection by the Steelers in 2025. Howard had an impressive 2024 for National Champion Ohio State, and is competing in a weak Steelers quarterback room as of today.
  • Mac Jones (49ers):
    • History as a starter back in New England. Actually looked solid filling in for Trevor Lawrence last season, with some big passing number games. Great landing spot to handcuff Brock Purdy in.

Running Backs:

  • Tyler Allgeier (Falcons):
    • Rushed for over 1,000 yards back in 2022 as a rookie. 150 touches last year for the Falcons. Bijan Robinson’s clear handcuff.
  • Trey Benson (Cardinals):
    • Third-round selection by the Cardinals in 2024. Benson has the DNA of a future RB1, and will continue to operate as James Conner’s handcuff. Conner has had a history of injuries.
  • Justice Hill (Ravens):
    • 42 receptions last season brought some sneaky PPR value. A solid complement to Derrick Henry at times.
  • Ray Davis (Bills):
    • 130 touches as a fourth-round rookie last season. Davis popped for Fantasy Football when given the opportunity, and is a high-upside handcuff to James Cook.
  • Jonathon Brooks (Panthers):
    • Major career setback with Brooks re-tearing his ACL. The Panthers spent a second-round draft pick on Brooks in 2024 as a very promising prospect. Brooks will take some major patience for Fantasy Football, but is still just 21 years old.
  • Kyle Monangai (Bears):
    • Seventh-round rookie for the Bears, who has the chance to compete for the RB2 role with Roschon Johnson. Head Coach Ben Johnson implemented a two-back system in Detroit.
  • Tahj Brooks (Bengals):
    • Sixth-round rookie for the Bengals who had back-to-back 1,500+ rushing yard and double-digit rushing touchdown seasons at Texas Tech. Brooks can compete for a role with Chase Brown.
  • Jaydon Blue (Cowboys):
    • Fifth-round rookie for the Cowboys. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders are ahead of Blue on the depth chart, but have both trended downward in their careers.
  • MarShawn Lloyd (Packers):
    • Third-round investment in 2024 from Green Bay. Lloyd spent 2024 banged up, but can take on the RB2 role for the Packers which typically gets some volume.
  • DJ Giddens (Colts):
    • Fifth-round rookie who can fight for the RB2 role behind Jonathan Taylor with Khalil Herbert on a run-heavy Colts offense. Giddens rushed for over 1,200 yards for Kansas State in back-to-back seasons.
  • Bhayshul Tuten (Jaguars):
    • Fourth-round rookie for the Jaguars. Head Coach Liam Coen is in his first season and is coming from a Buccaneers offense that featured 2024 fourth-round rookie Bucky Irving in a premier role. Roles are wide open with a new coach.
  • Elijah Mitchell (Chiefs):
    • Mitchell rushed for 963 yards as a rookie, and averaged 15 Fantasy PPG that season in 2021. Injuries have been an impact through time, but a healthy Mitchell is effective and now gets to compete in Kansas City.
  • Blake Corum (Rams):
    • The Rams drafted Corum in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Corum produced heavily for Michigan as a prospect and is the handcuff to Kyren Williams, who has had some injury history. The lead RB1 role for the Rams is huge for Fantasy.
  • Raheem Mostert (Raiders):
    • 1,012 rushing yards with 21 total touchdowns back in 2023. Mostert is the handcuff to rookie Ashton Jeanty now for the Raiders.
  • Jaylen Wright (Dolphins):
    • With Raheem Mostert gone, Jaylen Wright should be the RB2 behind De’Von Achane in an explosive Dolphins offense. Wright fits the mold with his 4.38 (40-yard dash) speed.
  • Jordan Mason (Vikings):
    • Jordan Mason flashed through 12 games when healthy last season in place of an injured Christian McCaffrey. Mason rushed for 789 yards, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Mason is now rostered with Aaon Jones in Minnesota, who is aging and has had an injury history. High upside handcuff.
  • Devin Neal (Saints):
    • Sixth-round selection by the Saints in 2025. Neal rushed for over 1,200 yards in back-to-back seasons for Kansas and now has an opportunity to compete for a role with Alvin Kamara as the RB2 for New Orleans.
  • Braelon Allen (Jets):
    • The Jets selected Allen in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Allen finished with 111 touches as a rookie last season, but can command more of a role this season or at least the handcuff role behind Breece Hall. Allen is still just 21 years old.
  • Isaac Guerendo (49ers):
    • Guerendo finished weeks with 19.2, 26.8, and 13.9 Fantasy Points last season when given the opportunity as the 49ers’ RB1 with the injuries they had. Guerendo enters 2025 as the potential season-long handcuff to Christian McCaffrey, who is coming off of an injury
  • Tyjae Spears (Titans):
    • Spears finished his last three weeks in 2024 with 27.2, 21.6, and 13.3 Fantasy Points, which were all top-12 positional performances. Spears can continue to fight for a lead role with the Titans.

Wide Receivers:

  • Elijah Moore (Bills):
    • Moore finished weeks with 16.5, 18.6, and 19.2 Fantasy Points in 2024 for the Browns. Moore’s rookie season with the Jets, he had several explosive weeks that raised his value. I still believe in the talent, and he is now connected to Josh Allen.
  • Jalen Coker (Panthers):
    • Weeks of 17.8, 21, and 14 Fantasy Points last season as a rookie for the Panthers. Coker can continue to compete for a larger role in his 2025 sophomore season.
  • Diontae Johnson (Browns):
    • Three seasons ranging from 144-169 targets, three seasons over 880 receiving yards, and two seasons of 14.8 / 17.2 Fantasy PPG for Diontae. A career turnaround is possible for a guy who has shown us plenty in the past, despite hopping around teams recently.
  • Troy Franklin (Broncos):
    • I was a big fan of Troy Franklin as a prospect, but he surprisingly fell to the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Franklin still has an opportunity to compete for a role in Denver
  • Jaylin Noel (Texans):
    • The Texans selected Jaylin Noel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Noel caught 80 balls for 1,194 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 2024 for Iowa State and has an opportunity to compete for a role in Houston.
  • Kayshon Boutte (Patriots):
    • Boutte averaged 5.8 targets, 3.5 receptions, 45 receiving yards, and 9.6 Fantasy Points Weeks 8-18, with two 20+ point performances in two of his last three games last season. Boutte can still compete for a solid role in New England for 2025.
  • Wan’Dale Robinson (Giants):
    • Wan’Dale earned 140 targets (8.2 per game) in 2024, which ranked 10th for the position, and caught 93 of those (5.5 per game), which also ranked 10th in 2024. The Giants have not one, but three quarterback upgrades in rookie Jaxson Dart and veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston for 2025.
  • Jahan Dotson (Eagles):
    • Dotson flashed as a rookie for Washington as a first-round selection, scoring seven touchdowns in 12 games. I still have belief in the talent, but he is a rare “wide receiver handcuff” to AJ Brown or DeVonta Smith with the Eagles.
  • Roman Wilson (Steelers):
    • The Steelers drafted Wilson in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he ended up missing basically the entire season. DK Metcal is in town, but George Pickens is gone, which leaves the WR2 role wide open.

Tight Ends:

  • Michael Mayer (Raiders):
    • Mayer was a former second-round selection by the Raiders back in 2023. Brock Bowers is the clear TE1 for the team, but I loved Mayer as a prospect out of Notre Dame with a really nice profile. A future trade would make Mayer’s value shoot up.
  • Elijah Arroyo (Seahawks):
    • The Seahawks selected Arroyo in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Arroyo produced 590 yards and seven catches for Miami on just 35 catches in 2024. The eventual Noah Fant replacement.
  • Harold Fannin Jr. (Browns):
    • Fannin led the FBS in receptions (117) and receiving yards (1,555) in 2024, which were both college tight end records. Fannin will sit and learn behind David Njoku, but is still just 20 years old. The Browns selected Fannin in the third-round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
  • Oronde Gadsden II (Chargers):
    • The Chargers selected Gadsden in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Syracuse. Gadsden finished with 975 receiving yards in 2022, was hurt in 2023, then produced 934 receiving yards in 2024. The future TE1 for the Chargers is in his range of possibilities.
