Fantasy Football 2025: Top 75 Dynasty Wide Receiver Rankings

There’s a lot that needs to happen for a young wide receiver to be successful. It would be a lot easier if we were just focused on who has the best athletic tools and upside. Transitioning to dealing with NFL coverage isn’t exactly easy. That’s not to say there’s a 100% failure rate, or that success won’t come quickly, but it’s generally ramped up. As you look to build a successful dynasty team, it’s important to target the wide receiver market. To help in that process, let’s dig into our 2025 dynasty wide receiver rankings.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Dynasty Wide Receiver Strategy

The Learning Curve Isn’t Easy

I touched on it above, but I feel like it’s the most important factor here. Young wide receivers generally have a lengthy process towards achieving their potential. The most important thing you can do here is to be aware of it.

Not only do you need to be patient, but at the same time, your expectations need to be modified. Don’t draft a young wide receiver and expect them to seamlessly step into your lineup. At the same time, once said receiver struggles, there could be value in acquiring them. Ultimately, you never want to give up on a talented receiver too soon.

Target Athletic Ability & Tools

The performance and success will come. Knowing that adjustments need to take place means we can’t judge solely on performance. We have to be able to see into the future and project success. It’s an inexact science, and situations and offenses change so frequently, so we have to manage our expectations. The best way to do that is to look for receivers that fit the part. Skills, size, speed, and overall athleticism have to be the first items to consider.

Don’t Ignore Veterans

In fantasy football, and especially in dynasty leagues, everyone is always looking towards the next best thing. I get it, but not everyone is so lucky. Kudos to you if you nab the best rookie in the upcoming season. Obviously, youth prevails, but veterans shouldn’t be ignored. Production counts just the same regardless of the age of the player. There’s no reason why you can’t supplement the upside of young and exciting options (the future of your team) with the dependable, boring, veteran to be competitive. Based on the age, the price is generally favorable as well.

Know Your Build

What are you after here? Is it a championship in the current year? Trying to build to be a playoff contender? Starting from 12th place to build the next championship contender?

Where you characterize yourself within the above dictates which wide receivers to target. If you aren’t focused on the current season, then youth should prevail. You

Dynasty Wide Receiver Notes

Kyle Williams, New England Patriots

While Kyle Williams did spend five years in college, he began at age 17, so it’s not really that bad. In fact, the “experience” should work to his advantage as he performed well each season. That was especially true in the last two years as Williams went 61/843/6 followed by 70/1,198/14.

The fact that there’s a clear role in New England for Williams from the outset is certainly a plus. What’s even more important is that he can run a 4.40 40-yard dash. That sets Williams up perfectly as, at the very least, the deep threat for the Patriots this season. Drake Maye’s big arm is also an asset here as he can form an explosive duo with Williams.

It still may take some time to find consistency here, but the pieces are in place.

Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers

It goes without saying that there’s going to be a fair amount of buzz surrounding Tetairoa McMillan. That’s what happens when you are a top-10 pick and have the college career that McMillan had.

Not only was the performance there, but the size, athleticism, and physical tools were as well. In multiple ways, McMillan simply stood out. Two years ago, he caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last year, he followed that up with 84 catches, 1,319 yards, and eight touchdowns.

The jury is still out on Bryce Young, but there is some talent and upside to work with. A big receiver like this could be just what Young needs to take the next step in his development. Even in just the early days of the preseason, it’s clear that there’s a budding chemistry between the two.

In their first preseason game, McMillan caught two of his five targets for 43 yards. That also included a 30-yard catch and a dropped touchdown, which could have left us seeing things from a different viewpoint.

Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers

While Christian Watson is out for the year, there is still some depth in the Green Bay receiver room. However, there’s nobody in place who will keep Matthew Golden down if he’s ready to make an impact in his rookie year.

The Packers are certainly open to it, as Golden has been running with the first team offense this summer. In his first preseason game, Golden caught one pass for seven yards while also drawing a pass interference penalty against Sauce Gardner.

Golden is short, 5-foot-11, but with a 4.29 time in the 40-yard dash, he can fly down the field. Last year, he finished out his college career with 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns, showing he can make the big play. The fact that Golden is already seeing first-team snaps bodes well for his future, and his speed plays a big factor here.
