Week 3 Running Back Sleepers and Streamers

In Week 2, Travis Etienne, Javonte Williams, Trey Benson, and Jacoby Croskey-Merritt were featured in this Running Back Sleepers and Streamers column. Croskey-Merritt was a miss, and so was Trey Benson. Travis Etienne finished as the RB13. With Tank Bigsby getting traded, Etienne is a must-play every single week. Javonte Williams found the end zone again and finished as the RB4. Williams has now finished as the RB5 and the RB4 in the first two games of the season. He is a must-start going forward.

Here are the running back sleepers and streamers for Week 3 of the fantasy football season.

Week 3 Running Back Sleepers

Isiah Pacheco @ New York Giants

Isiah Pacheco has become a bench piece after two weeks. In Week 1, he scored 4.8 points. In Week 2, he recorded 3.9 points. He was touted as being a popular pick in drafts since he was in a contract year and fully healthy. He has not lived up to the hype.

With that being said, he can make the first two weeks go away with a Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants. The Giants are allowing the most PPG to running backs through the first two weeks. Javonte Williams finished as a top-five RB against them, too. Also, the Kansas City Chiefs have started 0-2 for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era. I expect the Chiefs to blow out the Giants. In turn, this will leave room for Pacheco to finally get it going on the ground.

Tyler Allgeier @ Carolina Panthers

Another year, another season, the Carolina Panthers are a horrible football team. Now, they are not the worst again the run like last season, but nonetheless, still not great. I fully expect the Atlanta Falcons to pull away when they play in Week 3. Tyler Allgeier did not perform well in Week 1, but had 15 points and 16 carries in Week 2. I believe he will get a similar, productive workload this upcoming week, too. Obviously, Bijan Robinson is elite, but Allgeier is a great compliment to him and will see over 10 fantasy points. When games get out of hand, this is where Allegier comes into play, and that is why he is on sleepers and streamers for Week 3.

Running Back Streamers

Jordan Mason vs Cincinnati Bengals

First, it has been reported that Aaron Jones is unlikely to play in Week 3. Jordan Mason and Jones were already splitting the carries. Now, with no Jones in Week 3, Mason is in line to have over 20 carries.

Carson Wentz will be the starter for the Minnesota Vikings, too. The Cincinnati Bengals are allowing 29.35 PPG to the position through two weeks. That is the second most, thus far.

Fire up Mason as your RB2 or in your FLEX position with Jones set to be out. My prediction for Mason is that he sees over 80 rushing yards and finds the endzone. Mason is my favorite play for sleepers and streamers this week.

D’Andre Swift vs Dallas Cowboys

D’Andre Swift is not elite, but he is consistent. He finished as an RB2 in Week 2 and scored a touchdown. Now, I expect him to have similar production against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3. In order for the Chicago Bears’ offense to get through these growing pains, a running game must be established. With no competition in the backfield for Swift, I like him to finish as an RB2 once again in Week 3. Also, do not be surprised if Swift ends up as a top 15 play at the position, too.
