2025 Fantasy Football: Week 4 Quarterback and Running Back Starts and Sits

Those huge starts and sit decisions are at hand for Week 4. Last week, Caleb Williams dominated the Dallas Cowboys and finished as the QB1 overall. Additionally, Jordan Mason dominated and appears to be an RB1 with Aaron Jones out. He finished as the RB7 in Week 3. There were some letdowns as Isiah Pacheco did not live up to anything against the New York Giants. He cannot be started and should be left on the bench.

Quarterback and Running Back Starts and Sits

Quarterback Starts

Geno Smith vs. Chicago Bears

Geno Smith is a terrific choice in Week 4. He is the king of garbage time stats. The Las Vegas Raiders got dominated by the Washington Commanders. Yet, Smith finished as the QB4 with 26.1 fantasy points. With the Raiders constantly being down, Smith will be throwing it a lot. Look for a similar outing against the Chicago Bears this week. The Bears are allowing the third most PPG to QBs through three weeks, with 22.62 PPG.

Jets Starting QB @ Miami Dolphins

There are a handful of injuries to QBs through three weeks. With that being said, the New York Jets are unfortunate enough to have one of those. So far, Justin Fields’ availability in Week 4 is uncertain, but that does not matter. All in all, you should start Fields or Tyrod Taylor against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins’ defense is awful. They are allowing 26.27 PPG to QBs. That is the second most.

Quarterback Sits

Dak Prescott vs. Green Bay Packers

First, prayers to Ceedee Lamb and his ankle injury. Secondly, the Dallas Cowboys have terrible luck. They lost their WR1 and have injuries on the O-line. Now, they have to face the Green Bay Packers, a top-three defense in the NFL. The Packers are allowing just 11.43 PPG to QBs. That is the second-fewest this season. Prescott will be down his top target, against a scary pass rush, and down people on the o-line.

Kyler Murray vs. Seattle Seahawks

Kyler Murray is not the QB he once was, thus far. He has not finished as a QB1 this season. His best finish was QB16 in Weeks 1 & 3. Now, he faces a tough Seattle Seahawks defense that is not kind to QBs. They are allowing the sixth-fewest PPG to opposing QBs through three games.

Running Back Starts

J.K. Dobbins vs. Cincinnati Bengals

J.K. Dobbins is playing amazingly so far this season. Despite all the injuries, he is the RB12 through three games. Now, he faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4. The Bengals allowed Jordan Mason to finish as the RB7, and he had over 20 fantasy points. There will be a similar outing this week for Dobbins. With a defense allowing 30.07 PPG to the position, Dobbins is in line for another RB1 finish. Dobbins is my favorite play in this edition of starts and sits.

Trey Benson vs. Seattle Seahawks

Trey Benson is in line to have a serious workload the rest of the season. James Conner is out with ankle surgery. Benson has played fairly well with Conner. So, now, with no Conner, Benson has top-15 upside every week. In Week 4, he faces the Seattle Seahawks at home. The Seahawks are giving up the tenth most PPG to the position and 22 receptions to RBs in three games. That is the second most.

Running Back Sits

Cam Skattebo vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Cam Skattebo has taken the league by storm. Currently, Skattebo is the RB18 and had 24.1 fantasy points against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. He now faces the Los Angeles Chargers, who are allowing the fifth-fewest PPG to the position. Yes, Skattebo has had two great weeks, consecutively, but Jaxon Dart will be making his debut. Overall, I’d rather wait and see how the offense performs than trust Skattebo with a rookie QB making his first career start.

Washington Commanders RBs @ Atlanta Falcons

Chuba Hubbard finished as the RB8 and RB10 in his first two games. In Week 3, he finished with 9.6 fantasy points. Credit to the Atlanta Falcons defense. They are allowing 14.6 fantasy points this season to RBs. That is the sixth-fewest.
